So how do we find out who to message or email? It’s not usually included with the posting, and even the best of stalking doesn’t always guarantee finding the best contact person for follow up. I’ve been applying through LinkedIn and direct ATS too, and worry that most of it is in vain.
Linked in is a gateway to most companies own ATS or applicant tracking system. All I can say is, it helps to send a follow up email.
Also, that's linked in comparing you to other applicants not an agency telling you how well you're doing.
Ya you just show up like any other applicant in our ATS. So it doesn’t stand out that you originated your application from LinkedIn. Agree that it’s always good to reach out via a message if you truly match up with the job posting. At least inquire about setting up an informational interview to learn more about the company and share your background.
If it’s a paid LinkedIn listing, it shows you the recruiter that posted it. The free ones just pull from our website job board so they don’t have that info. Best is to poke around for a 2nd connection if you don’t know anyone directly. Try for a friend of a friend approach to get into a conversation. You should also search for the recruiter in that location and see if they have anything on their profile about the specific job.
