Is there anyone that is teaching from home and your students have returned to school? How did you get permission to do that and how does that work with kids in the classroom? I am guessing there has to be an adult in the room while the students are in there but is there another teacher during their planning or do you have to get a sub? Our reentry has been delayed and I am working with HR to try and stay home while students aren’t there but it looks like I’m going to have to take some Parental Leave once students do return because there is not a plan otherwise.
Does Citi offer MRA funds (medical reimbursement account funds) similar to JPMC? E.g.: JPMC offer up to $1,000 in MRA funds if you complete some activities like wellness screening, health coaching, etc.
My partner is so sensitive, sometimes in the worse ways. he’s sick rn, and tbh it just seems like theatre, checking temperature, groaning, deep breathing (?) and I almost feel like it’s to get my attention. The opposite happens, and I harden up, get snappy, and just want to ignore him. I feel like I should be coddling him but part of me just feels like he’s either faking it or just incapable of handling discomfort.
So does the bloating ever end? 🤣 Also, a more serious question. Was anyone here eating at a caloric deficit before they got pregnant? If so, at what point did you stop? My first appt isn’t for another a few weeks and I’m curious. I know weight gain isn’t crucial until 2nd trimester, but I’m curious about weight loss now. I know some people tend to be sick for a lot of their 1st trimstester and end up losing weight anyway. 🤔
Anyone out there use graded debates and if so how do you do it? Do you have any rubrics that you use? I do everything as a graded debate but I want to see how other do it to be able to critically analyze where my kid's debates are and where they need to be. Thanks guys
How do you feel about putting on hold your family expansion plans because of a recent promotion? Do you think it’s a normal thing to do? And if so, how long is the normal waiting period? Knowing that the parental leave is about 6 months!
McK and BCG 🐟, do you all accrue tenure while you’re on parental leave? If so, how much?
I got a job offer and my wife is pregnant and due in 2 months. Do I accept and tell them? Or tell them before I accept? Not looking to immediately take time off if that matters. Maybe a two weeks then take an LOA after a few months.
Friend’s kid said they hope to work for VaynerMedia because Gary Vee sells inspiration instead of things.
A close friend from college got married this summer. We lost touch after she met her husband and she stopped texting/calling back. I was still in her wedding, but hadn’t talked to her since. I just found out she got pregnant in October and had a miscarriage in December. I feel awful I didn’t know but also don’t know what to do.
Looking to enter provider-side consulting. I used to work in financial services management consulting and went back to school for premed in preparation for medical school. Now I'm looking to get back into the market. Any tips for employment in the current market?
Has anyone ever taken a leave of absence/sabbatical due to burnout/exhaustion/depression? I'm feeling at my wits end with everything right now and have an appointment with my dr tomorrow. I feel like some time off away from everything would do me some good - I also have some other medical problems - but I'm afraid of what it might do to my career, what my co-workers/family will think, etc.
Hello fishes ! About to be offered a position at Deloitte London as SC. Exp : ~9. Visa sponsorship is needed. I foresee a possible negotiation on compensation from Deloitte. Not sure of the estimate yet but I understand it would be 55-60k as per other fishes . Should I settle for a lower comp while employer pays one time sponsorship & migration costs or bear the migration costs self and chase a good salary . Which is better ? Note : moving to UK with spouse and kid
Gearing up to burn the rest of my paternity leave (11 weeks). SM on my project thinks that’s too long to take since there’s a lot of work in our pipeline and I should consider only using half of it...
My husbands coworker sold their home and are now living every 2 months in a new place and exploring. No kids and just looking at their adventures is making me miss my old life. Don’t get me wrong, I love my kid and all the small pleasures it comes with but …. Somedays when the days are really really long, I just want to hide and eat a cookie and think about that carefree lifestyle…
How do you 🐠 maintain good relationships with your counselees? Since I’ve been on parental leave my counselee said they wanted to permanently switch to the person who was covering for me. Feels like our relationship was awkward…
Thinking about comp discussions for later in the year a bit early give. The tight labor market. I don’t currently enroll in any of the offered benefits (medical, vision, etc) because my wife has better coverage for our family across the board at her work. Has anyone had success talking with their employer using an approach of “my total comp is below peers since I don’t enroll in any of the benefits, is it possible for that to be factored in with my next raise?”
Hi All! Cross-posting this to the mom’s bowl, but I have a fabulous nanny in the Atlanta area that I will be sad to let go of in another few months. I have a vested interest in seeing her land an amazing family that will take care of her as well as she will take care of their children. She is young, vibrant, and creative - she shows tremendous initiative (she instituted her own lesson plans with our child at 1). She is very conscientious, respectful, and helpful to a fault. Cont. in comments.
Seeking an affordable car lease. Folks have suggested I consider going through a car broker. Does anyone have experience with this and/or recommend anyone? TIA!

I feel horrible that I’ll miss 150-200 hrs this year even with a busy Dec. I’m a 2nd yr in a busy group, never turned down work and often volunteered. Group hired many laterals, and my time management has been shamefully subpar (lots of stressful late nights/weekends, but also many unproductive weekdays). Too scared to talk with partners/seniors at this point - nobody checks my hours regularly and they think I’ve been busy because everyone is. What can I do to improve the situation?
is it a conflict of interest to do freelance work for two clients in the same industry at the same time? or is it a don’t ask, don’t tell kind of thing?
Does any manager above from EY know anything about the new hire independence audit? How does it work? What information is requested?
Hi- I come from a client service role but my company is terrible about sharing docs/recos/info across teams so we recreate the same content over and over. So I will now be in a new role to make content more shareable. Any recos on platforms to do so? We are a traditional agency with most docs in Microsoft PPT/excel. Have access to Teams channels, Sharepoint. Just want one easily searchable place to store docs where I would be in charge of organizing. I am clueless.
Deciding between Kearney and L.E.K for a summer associate role, looking at hopefully transitioning to MBB for full time (dream role, though I like both other firms perfectly fine). Between DT at Kearney and LEK generalist which profile lends best to switching up a tier? Kearney L.E.K. Consulting McKinsey & Company Boston Consulting Group Bain & Company
Was on contract (campus hire) and just got the news that they are not extending FT offers... but still taking new interns this summer. I can’t stop but thinking this is unfair and feel devastated
Using a new job offer as leverage to switch groups within the same firm? Currently in Tax and expressed interest after the last busy season to switch into the Tax Tech group. Networked with ppl from the practice and learned Power Query/BI but will have to wait until after busy season to potentially switch. Been applying around and wondering what is the likelihood they’ll let me switch right away if I have a new job offer but telling them I would rather go to Tax Tech than take the new job?
Innovative idea right here.
First time managing resources. I have someone on my team who lacks motivation, isn’t proactive about coming to me with issues, and turns in sub-par deliverables. Any suggestions on how to effectively manage this person? Assuming that this person cannot be replaced.
Asking for a friend who works in industry: what’s best way to ask for more money during a review/mid-cycle review when it’s < 6% increase last year. She doesn’t have other offers on table but is interviewing and industry comps are slightly higher. Do you need a competing offer to ask?
Is Chicago MCOL or HCOL or LCOL? What should a typical salary range should be at 15 years of experience?
Hi all! I currently work in Learning & Leadership Dev and wanted to know if there were any companies that are amazing when it comes to L&LD roles? I’m considering switching companies, but unsure where to start looking. Thank you!
