I like the Apple Watch but I have the Series 3 and want to upgrade. I bought my sister a Series 8 recently as a thank you gift and I was so jealous that I couldn’t get myself one. I want the Ultra though.

what are you trying to track ? heart rate ?
a chest strap is most accurate followed by an arm band, both can sync with a garmin or Apple Watch (which you don’t have to be wearing) or even straight to your phone without needing a watch.
A Garmin is a fitness device. An Apple watch is an extension of your phone with fitness capabilities.
tracking heart rate to make sure you are working at the right intensity is awesome.
heart rate to estimate calories is a crude estimate and not that accurate.

I love my Apple Watch but it’s so ugly.
