Why wouldn't you use the full4 weeks? It was the most productive 4 weeks I've ever had.
I know at KPMG ours is use it before or lose it, no opportunity to use it after birth. I’m planning to take at least 2-3 weeks of it!
Use it. My baby came early (38 weeks) and I was kinda sad I only got two weeks off before baby came to get all the final items ready
Especially since you cannot add on later when baby is born!! It’s use it or lose. Definitely get your well deserved time to rest before the beautiful chaos of motherhood 😊
Is there a particular reason you are considering not taking it? If it’s your team, literally don’t worry. They will have to back fill you anyway so that shouldn’t matter. It was very nice for me (even though the baby came early) bc It was hard to sleep at night towards the end plus extra doctors apt. I just didn’t want to be in front of my computers / attending meetings. It was nice to just listen to my body and nap / rest / prep for the baby (including freezer meals!!)

You guys are so lucky to have this!!!
Save it for after delivery?
Not an option, it's use it or lose it 4 weeks before due date.
Would be great to get other people thoughts here. The way my company maternity apologies reads it feels like can be taken afterwards as well. But I have just read the policy not gone through it, so not sure and would love to know same for IL!

Um hi I’m currently 5 days overdue and going insane of boredom. I’ve been “working” but since I transitioned everything weeks ago just in case that is like 1-2 hours per day. I appreciate those 2 hours of distraction as I get more and more uncomfortable but that’s just me! My first babe was 10 days late and our offices were closed that week and it was excruciatingly long.
Are the 4 weeks paid? If yes, then I don’t even see this being a dilemma.
What is this benefit??
Take it -you lose it if you don’t
State of california offers the 4 weeks.
I’m in NJ and I was eligible for 2 weeks but I opted for 1 week because I’m a super anxious person and I wanted my mind to be occupied at work rather than stress about labor or going into labor.
Funny thing though I worked on the Friday (last day before leave starts) but went into active labor on Saturday evening!!
Do you need doctor’s proof of medical conditions? Thanks
