Do you count unvested RSU as NetWorth if you're still within the company?
My idea is that if I ever change I will try to get an offer to compensate the RSU loss or I'll realize the loss then.
Also, I'm subtracting to my net worth the taxes I'll have to pay

Net worth = assets - liabilities. RSUs don’t become assets until they vest.

That said, you should absolutely consider future RSU income when considering a move to another company.

So possibly silly refinancing question: my understanding of refinancing is that if interest rates lower, you basically start a new mortgage with a new bank at lower rates and pay off your old mortgage. With this, there's some closing costs associated.

Assuming your old bank doesn't want to lose your business (aka, interest payments), why don't they offer to simply reduce the interest rate on your mortgage to what they're currently offering customers?

Maybe some perspective might be of use to me. I’m transitioning out of the service and I’ve positioned myself decently to be competitive in the market. I’ve got two offers from great companies. I know this is personal and dependent, but what should I be considering as a commensurate salary?

My SO and I regretted getting a dog from the 2nd week we had him. Fast track 6 years, we care about him, but we’ve never been able to shake of this regret (we actually joke around about this till this very day). My biggest gripe is less the cost and the daily care than it is our dog dictating where we can rent. The regret isn’t a daily background feeling, but it comes up strong when apartment hunting. We would like to rehome our dog, but my SO feels like we are just disposing our pet. Thoughts?

Any advice on the best place to put funds I eventually plan to use for a backdoor Roth? Do I just put them in a traditional IRA every month and then roll it? Or do I put it somewhere else?

Hi all - amateur investor here who somehow started getting in the market right as things took off. I didn’t pay rent this year due coming back home after COVID so had a lot of extra $ to invest. Currently maxing my 401k, Roth IRA, and ESPP. Not maxing HSA but contributing $3k, so close.
After this, I have a $500 monthly auto investment into a vanguard fund & have been intermittently buying stocks on Robinhood.
What else should I do with any extra cash I have?

Would love some input on putting money into house renos, and whether they’ll be worth it in the long run. Thought this would be a good bowl for it.

First time homeowners. We splurged a little on the house and hope to make it a more long-term (10-15 year) place. It needed some upgrades and renovations, the biggest one of which is the kitchen. All in, we’re looking at around 90k for kitchen. It feels like an absurd amount of money, but all 4 quotes we got were around the same ballpark. Thoughts?

We are looking to buy a new built 4 bed 3 ba for 4.75 for $370 K. The logic here is we will rent out our current properties and slowly build up our real estate portfolio. Don’t know if it makes sense. HHI is $425 K with an additional $100 K in passive variable income. No kids yet. TIA
