I did. And eventually spoke to HR about it. Got to know I wasn't the only one who complained nor the last one. The guy was eventually fired.
Ditto to PwC1 except: he was a very high performer sales-wise. So he got a coach and counseling. And turned himself around. He’s way better now so I’m glad I reported him to my partner and HR
Managing Director shouting me down when I was answering his question. Then shouting again in front of others that he wouldn’t talk with me about this because I “wasn’t important enough to be in the conversation.” I was my work stream lead and not a newbie.
Same person telling client that everyone on his team wasn’t doing good work so he would make us work round the clock and not charge it in. We had hit all deliverables at a level of excellence rarely seen. He just wanted to manage more.l and potentially sell more.
Hearing him tell someone else that he didn’t deserve to go home from work because he hadn’t shown up for work that day (the Associate had done great work but been cowed by constant haranguing from same person).
That was my last straw (going after staff). And yes, I should have reported him earlier but I hadn’t.
D1, WTF. That's an ethics hotline / tell your CC and HR stat scenario if I ever saw one.
Bullying in what context. Just trying to understand scenarios at work ya know
Gosh.. I got hammered today for no fault of mine and my level up used some lingo ( not cursing ) that pissed me off. I tried to tell that person about my viewpoint but I got ignorance and no interest in talking. This is not the first time and I know it won't be last but I think next time I am escalating to his higher up or HR for sure. I am just surprised that this type of culture exists in big 4
Good luck I’ve been told to suck it up and take it by counselor and that this job is tough. Was dealing with someone locking me in a room and taking out personal issues on me. It’s the Wild West. No one cares because you’re replaceable
D1, holy hell.
We had a case like that recently with an old teammate. Half our current team volunteered to alt travel to the old teammates site to revert with some feedback for their lead...
This place might be fratty AF, but the good ones do a surprisingly good job looking out for their ilk.
Several co-workers and myself reported the MD since he couldn't manage his temper - he would frequently scream at us over trivial things and throw stuff at us. Nothing came of it as the owners of the company and HR "couldn't fire him" since he was one of the first employees to join the firm. Resulted in everyone on the team quitting.
D1 - whoa you should definitely escalate
OP - it shouldn't matter that it is a peer. If you can push back, do that. If not you should still bring it up - either with your partner or HR
Call the ethics helpline
Novice here what does it mean guys ?
Clarify, please C1
I am more bullied by my peer
