Do you ever bring your own children to school? What's your school's policy on that?

Like on work days before the actual students are there, while setting up the classroom? Then yes! On days I’m actually teaching? Then no.

In my previous district, only the administration favorites could bring their children. Others received warnings then write ups. My current school, on days with no students and they are older children that require minimal supervision, then it’s fine. After school, it’s fine. They get bussed from schools in the district.

Yes! As long as you get permission from your immediate supervisor

Not allowed per policy!

My children go to my school, so yes!

We don’t have an official policy but in the past teachers and admin have allowed their children to run through the staff room and office without supervision; it can get disruptive and pretty annoying but it’s getting better.

We celebrate bring your kid to work day in a big way! They have tons of activities etc... food spreads for breakfast and lunch... it’s really nice.. once in a while you might see another teacher with their child because of personal scheduling... but that is usually only for a short time in order to make appts... bring the child to school whatever.

There are a few smaller agencies in my city that I specifically adore and i’ve reached out/applied to open roles etc. One of them I even have a friend at, she has told me they are dying for more designers right now, but also so busy they struggle to make time for the hiring process.

Does anyone have tips on how to get past this sort of wall?

We moved into a 25 year old home recently and inspection was clean. There’s one room downstairs with built in cabinets that we ripped out and patched / repainted, however the non-uniform drywall texture was very obvious so we called drywall repair out to retexture (orange peel look). They spent a day sanding down and retexturing and it looked great, waited 2 days per their instruction and primed / repainted…

Last 5 years I've been fortunate enough to be working, especially thru the pandemic in a very successful ortho practice. Past months I've been struggling with a nagging hip injury I had surgery in February, went to work the next day. My body is failing & my mind is following, I've recently turned to alcohol. I've spoken to my PCP she gave me something to back off the booze & I've been going to therapy for hip & mh. How should I speak to my employer about taking time off? Prob another procedure

Making an offer. The sellers said they had 30+ people walk through the open house today, and are asking for best and final. They’ll make a decision on Monday. The list price is 775k. We were originally thinking of offering 700 to start since comps are around 735k. However, this is nicer than the comps renovation-wise. What would you all suggest we offer? We’d rather lose the house than overpay, so this concerns us.

Hi everyone! I’m switching internally to my company’s LA office (from Boston). I only need to be in the office 1 or 2x per week and am toying around with the idea of living in San Diego and commuting up that one day. It’s likely be a 2.5hr drive or so each way, which seems like a lot. Can anyone speak to whether or not I’d go insane with that setup or if there are ways to make it more tolerable? I just have more family / friends in SD and would prefer to live there if possible :) thank you!!
