If your identity is defined by an accounting firm, that's sad
Yes.
Nope. Big 4 was rejected by me. I interviewed with 2 and got offers but realized for a number of reasons it wasn’t for me. I regret nothing, which has been confirmed multiple times over the years via conversations with friends at big 4 about their experiences (or lack thereof). I ran an integrated sec audit 3 years into my career. Some of my friends hadn’t even seen the whole file yet
Yep. Got burned cause I wanted a non traditional internship. Never felt more like a number in my life. Went regional firm route who wanted me as a person and was happy to give me my non traditional internship. I look back to that period 8 years ago and while it didn’t feel like it then, now I know it was the prob the best thing that ever happened to me.
@EY 3 wdym
Deloitte has superior technology and was way more organized than EY
Yes, I was rejected by 2/4 Big 4
I have a lot of friends, and met a lot of people, that went Big 4....size of firm/client <> competence
I voluntarily left big 4 and want back in. I’ve found where all the big 4 rejects land and it’s not pretty. I’m boomeranging back to a legit firm with top notch people ASAP
@RSM1 that's how I felt when I left big four for mid tier. I worked at a different big four before leaving and wow not all big four are equal
So you’re saying DT>EY>mid tier ? And you should have stayed at DT? But EY is still better than mid tier? I’m struggling here at mid tier. More work (hours wise), less interesting work, unsophisticated clients, and the process/leverage model (not existent) is a joke relative to big 4
