Yes. They can't help you if they don't know.
However, I've had this scenario before play out several times... Which was helpful in knowing when to quit :)
Do it. A good manager should be able to manage resources appropriately. You’re helping them understand how to allocate projects and potentially preventing the loss of an employee (you). I think it’s good to raise your hand when you want to do more and when you’re doing too much. Help them help you.
Yes. Entire career. I’ve turned down work, I’ve turned down pitches, I’ve said I need to hand off a project or two, I’ve emailed that my after hours & weekend availability is off limits for the next two weeks, etc.
But I’ve hand raised & over delivered enough to develop a trusting relationship.
I’ve never had to, but I feel like I definitely could

Yes. So long as it’s not your M.O. it should be taken seriously. And if you don’t flag that, you could end up in a situation where you’re not performing well on anything because you’re trying to take on too much. Your manager should be able to help you reset expectations about LOE, move things off your plate temporarily or permanently, find additional supper, or at least recognize that what you’re being asked to do is unsustainable.
Many times. No response. Guess that means it’s ok to drown, then drown again and again.
Been there done that. It doesn’t hurt to speak to them about it.

I manage my account teams and pm’s so they can wait or adjust pending my work load.
Please do. I still tell my cco when i think shits getting a little too wild. It helps
I have. My boss was receptive and worked with me to find a solution. I would recommend speaking to your boss if you are feeling overwhelmed. It is not like you're not going to do your work or looking for a conflict with him
I haven't done this yet, but I'm thinking of doing it soon. I'm getting burnt out from all the work I have to do and it's starting to take a toll on my mental health.
YES, and was I pleasantly surprised at their response! I’m still fairly junior so I didn’t want to come off as lazy or like I wasn’t working hard enough. But my boss was super receptive and worked with me to take things off my plate as well as teach me time management skills, which has helped me as I continue to gain more clients. Definitely speak up, I hope they listen to you and do something about it.
