Help! I'm a Sped teacher (ELA inclusion) that comes home to a High Functioning Autistic 9 yr old with ADHD and a slew of sensory issues that has sworn off soap 🤢. I've made visual check list for bathroom processes, bought timers, tried different bars and body washeds with net sponges, towels and even invested in a pricey showerhead with multiple settings. His set of needs are out of my wheel house. I need suggestions before I just pack up and move out *sarcasm but at the end of my rope*.

I had an interview and the recruiter (White F) could not stop talking about DEI and POC % hires. It’s great yes but I didn’t even mention or ask about it yet. Barely had time to talk about myself. I was slightly uncomfortable. She made me feel like a diversity hire.

Any other juniors get mistaken for senior associates? I’m in my late 20’s, but I think I look older and tend to dress less casually than the rest of the office, so that could be a reason. I was in another practice area for a few years, but am a junior first year associate as I lateraled over into another practice area. Partners at other firms call me and attempt to negotiate deal terms and structure directly with me, and investment banks ask me questions during Zoom meetings. Is this weird?

I then met the VP of finance and apparently he said they may needed someone with more experience but hiring manager thought I was a great fit . I didn’t hear anything for a few days and then last Thursday they asked me to submit my references, (Friday they called) Since then, it’s been a week and haven’t heard anything. I haven’t received an offer letter not a rejection email. Im so confused.

I am the only immigrant with an accent in my office and it’s almost a daily thing now that my bosses/coworkers would explain terms to me that I already know. I’d often freeze when they do that because my first reaction is always confused. How do you talk about it with them after the fact especially when it seems like it’s not a big deal to them?

My company has ERGs and one of them is pretty large and includes a lot of demographics. Within it, people are starting to kind of form their own subgroups (like based on office location or country-specific ethnicity).
