Do you feel like your skills are underutilized at work? I have a business degree and yet I feel like my main job is emailing resources to employees and making company content about diversity policies. I enjoy sitting down and actually brainstorming about the issues, but that's not a huge part of my work.

Yes and I'm honestly bored out of my mind. I don't want to seem like I'm too big for my britches but I'm thinking of asking our dept head or even our CEO for more work. Or come up with some company wide ideas on my own and ask if I can try to implement them. Right now all I do is collect data and go to meetings.

I have the skill of common sense & project management. The basis of any engagement is these 2 things, which are often overlooked and result in scope creep, misaligned teams, missed milestones, etc.

You would think that asking Stakeholders to commit to a decent project plan (with some common sense + accurate financials) would be easy, but it’s not. Therefore, I see layoffs, stupid business decisions, rampant egos, etc. being cyclical and never ending.

So yup, my skills are being underutilized for legal 😈 work related endevours.

Help! I'm a Sped teacher (ELA inclusion) that comes home to a High Functioning Autistic 9 yr old with ADHD and a slew of sensory issues that has sworn off soap 🤢. I've made visual check list for bathroom processes, bought timers, tried different bars and body washeds with net sponges, towels and even invested in a pricey showerhead with multiple settings. I had an interview and the recruiter (White F) could not stop talking about DEI and POC % hires. It’s great yes but I didn’t even mention or ask about it yet. Barely had time to talk about myself. I was slightly uncomfortable. She made me feel like a diversity hire.

Teachers should/should not discuss their opinions and ideas around sexuality, gender, and religion with students.

Really looking for a way to turn around a toxic building culture with staff to staff bullying, cliques/social isolation, hard feelings on big topics (racism, non acceptance of gender identity). Last year the staff polarized with the lead bully whom I helped leave. And the lead gossip (who was my secretary) that gained their sympathy and turned them against me. She also left. Now I need to regain trust and eliminate unacceptable teacher behaviors. Open to any and all advice.

My boss makes jokes about me being from a different country whenever there is a work meeting or a gathering with coworkers, even though he knows where I am from. This usually occurs when I meet new work-related people or for example if I am in a situation that involves ethnic related subjects.

What is this? This is normal?

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Turns out the salary and benefits were meant as lowkey bribes to insure I worked at the company without actually doing any work.
