It is a sham. A never ending cycle of selling shit for other ppl. And we think we're cool w awards we give ourselves 😩
@supervisor that's a healthy way to think about it. For me, it feels like I'm a hamster running on a wheel.

Seek your manager for guidance? For me, titles are important more so in front of the clients and leadership than with your immediate team. Based on my current experience, my AD can't handle anything and her personality/ego is like the spawn of a "Princess" and "Psycho". Upper management should be there to help you succeed but do not complain or else they will think you're not capable.
I did not work for 20+ years to find myself sitting in what amounts to a typing pool so the big conglomerates can rake in more money off our backs. If we no longer get the visible perks - like offices and secretaries and cases of water delivered to our offices - then at least we should receive some of those additional profits!
I know I work hard so if I move up I won't feel unhappy (unless the pay don't match the title). After moving up, it's new territory and responsibilities, you sure you're unhappy due to the new expectations or something else?
My AD is so immature/rude/passive aggressive, she is imploding because she don't want to seem weak to our common boss/VP and account team after playing the rank card with the rest of the team, managing her team not as a team but a dictatorship sweatshop. She lost all respect and to make things worst she moved up by delegating work, never actually doing it. Implosion with team by shitty management style then another implosion on top by not knowing how to do anything even an excel pivot table.
Imagine if you hadn't made it up the ladder, though. You'll notice you don't see too many non-management people older than 35 in most agencies (and if you do...run!).
