The only reason why I am saying no is because I wake up in the morning and have been using the time I normally would be commuting (roughly a half hour) to do a quick session for yoga. I also make sure that I put on a video that caters to where I’m feeling stiff. For example I put on a should neck yoga routine this morning and a lower back one yesterday. I would recommend this to anyone. I hope you all have better days for back pain!

I did and bought an ergonomic chair, I do back strengthening exercises and walking helps too. Stand up every hour. The chair I bought is good, it’s the Hyken mesh task chair by Staples. The seat is not the best. I would look for something which doesn’t have a mesh seat, although it’s a good reminder to stand up and move around...

Yes I work 18 hours straight on a shitty chair. No break no walk no happiness.

@M1 that’s the worst staffing plan ever indeed. 7 junior folks running around 1M and me getting the shit from both side, across all mainland US time zones so no snooze in the morning and no early bedtime in the evening. #fml

Buy a chair.

No. Have a more comfort setup and not cramming onto airplanes 3-4 times a week. I also connected my laptop to my tv which helps a lot

Try taking mini yoga/stretch breaks! I find forward fold, cat/cow, child’s pose, cobra, and reclining twist help my back pain a lot.

A better chair will help for sure, but moving around will help even more. It's so easy to sit in the same position for hours and hours and hours at home. Force yourself to move around, stretch, etc.

Just got a stand up desk to hopefully help!

What brand

Yes!

Yes. So much sitting and hunching.

Yes, I keep slouching in my crappy chair

Yes. And my chiropractor says he's seeing a surge in lower back pain calls

Yes, but indirectly correlated to WFH. I think the biggest impact is due to excess weight gain which then puts extra pressure on the spine

Our company is allowing us to take chairs home from the office due to people having issues.

Yes. I’m going through a ton of those disposable heating pads.

Yes. Finally bought myself a better chair and desk. Hoping it helps. 🤞🏼

Yes, but I made myself a makeshift standing desk and that’s been really helpful.

Bf & I live in different cities, so due to remote work he comes over for longer periods of time. He was supposed to stay all week + the long weekend but today I was just so drained and on edge I told him he needs to go back today. I feel really bad and pretty sure he’s pissed but not sure how to preserve my own sanity while still being a good partner. Any ideas or advice on how to resolve and manage going forward?

I'm a tech consultant with 1 YOE. Im wondering if I should trade my current job: 80k TC, fully remote, ~45 hrs/week, fantastic company and team, and really fun projects, for a new opportunity: 125k TC, 100% in person, ~60 hrs/week, unknown team and company dynamics? Im leaning toward staying, because I really do love where I am, but thats life changing money! Any advice is appreciated!

I started working in a agency two months ago, and I have two very big projects running simultaneously. My Creative Director left for paternity leave, and left me with all the work, facing the client, going to shootings, editing. I've been working 15 days straight, no weekends. The agency hasn't given me any back up/someone I can team up with to do the job. Is this normal? I'm used to have a partner, a copywriter or another creative working alongside. Keep in mind that I'm mid-level.

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring.
