Do you find that most customers you deal with are polite? I've noticed a lot of them don't even say "thank you" after I have fixed their problem... it's disheartening

I consider the opposite, most of them are rude but as in this job it is necessary I have to be patient and not say anything.

This is a normal thing that you deal with when you work in these types of jobs. Not everyone is polite or maybe they are just having a bad time or bad day. So it's best not to take it personally and continue to provide excellent customer service.

Yes, I find that most customers are polite. Even if they are angry or frustrated, they usually say thank you once the issue has been resolved. I think it's disheartening when people don't say thank you after we've gone out of our way to help them. It makes me feel like my efforts were for nothing.

There are a few customers that don't seem to appreciate the work that we do to help them, but for the most part, I find that people are polite

I was called into HR because a coworker overheard a conversation between me and another colleague taking about cable/streaming shows that we watched or recorded. I mentioned that I recorded a few true-crime shows. My colleague jokingly said, "I hope I'm not on your hit-list!". I replied, "Not anymore." HR pulled me in to say a coworker complained about me talking about hit-lists, and they were now scared. HR wouldn't say who complained, so do I have a right to ask about the resolution to this?

Is it really that hard to say please and thank you instead of barking orders at me like a dog?

I know we are busy, I know this is my job, but dang, it is a lot more pleasant to work for the midlevels and seniors who say please and thank you and show a tiny amount of respect and appreciation.

I actively avoid working for midlevels and seniors who just bark at me, never ask, and never say thank you because it just shows they don’t care about being a half decent human.

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself. I don't want her to think I won't be able to keep clients straight when I start doing supervised sessions.
