Hi! I need help! Where do I find creative, quirky, Prod Co’s? Need to do Docu-style videos fun, artsy, some Gfx. Not just talking heads. Client is corporate but spots don’t need to be boring. The reels I have are too “commercial”. It’s for branded content but should feel like little films. Need on camera dialogue & B-roll to create a mood. It’s a triple bid so need more options! Team loves this place, are there more? https://www.cottage8films.com

Josh Kilmer-Purcell worked at JWT (and a host of other agencies)....not sure he graduated to something different, but he did find success in a never of side gigs (famous drag queen, best selling aithor, writer for NYT, and wrote and started in The Fabulous Beekman Boys reality show).
In 1963 a young David Jones (later to become David Bowie) enlisted in the only nine-to-five job of his career – working as a junior visualiser/paste up artist with Nevin D Hirst Advertising at its office in New Bond Street, London. He lasted less than a year and is reported to have hated it.

Good examples here, but always makes me laugh that the Baked by Melissa woman was funded by her millionaire brother.
That’s a lot of love, so can’t knock it too much.

This is my favorite fish bowl thread ever. TY OP.
I feel like some of the contributing writers on Rick and Morty must be former/current copywriters, given their frequent spot-on digs at the advertising industry.

In advertising. Not life. Got a little dark there
Barry Manilow started out as a jingle writer. He wrote some of the most memorable commercial jingles ever. McDonalds "You Deserve A Break Today." "Band-Aid's "I am Stuck in Band-Aid" Stsre Farm's "Like a Good Neighbor" plus KFC, Pepsi and Dr Peppers. Funny...his jingles are more memorable than his songs, lol.
