Do you folks have any thoughts on DEI qualifications? I'm seeing a lot of certificates and courses but from where I stand, someone who wants to practice DEI in an org should have a post secondary education in a related field, and the DEI certificate is perhaps the icing on the cake? Having just a certificate is not enough.

I see a lot of job seekers wanting to get into DEI because it's trending, but this type of work has been in place for decades (org. Behavior, Culture).

Am I out of touch?

No I think you’re spot-on. DEI/EIB etc. is being commodified.

I’m not sure of the ratio between candidates with “hard” DEI experience/education and the amount of available DEI jobs, but it does seem a bit out of whack in my experience. DEI is creeping into almost every HR job description these days.

The law profession has a big problem.

Long ago, law firms had only attorneys, no partners and associates. A newly qualified attorney was a partner like everyone else.

Then, some clever minds understood they could make money by having attorneys work as "associates" for some years before joining the partnership.

Little by little, they have pulled the ladder up behind themselves, with more and more associates per partner and an ever longer road to partnership.

Received an offer to join a consulting firm as a Consultant specializing in Data Analytics and Visualization. TC is $180K. I would work with the big tech clients. My current base barely breaks $160K but the equity brings TC to about $185K however we are still private so not really $185K. I’m not enjoying the current role and am beginning to look for other opportunities internally. I do like the company culture and people. Should I try to stay and accept the lower salary or take a risk and jump?

Hi all,
I had a query to all the experienced guys and to HR (if any)
My wife is a physiotherapist(Doctor). Bt the scope and growth is not that much.
So i am planning to get her into IT by doing some certifications of Testing profile.
Will there be any issue from the HR end at the Time of hiring?
Will her resume get shortlisted in naukri profile as she belongs to medical field and trying for IT?
Assuming she has gained all the technical knowledge for the skillset
Will she be able to get into MNCs

Looking for advice on what types of reports/data are most convincing to senior leadership for keeping staff on who serve internal functions (knowledge managers, intranet, content specialists)- I fear these are the positions which will be lost/replaced by contractors. I want to improve my quantitative skills so I can be more succinct. Any recs for skills I should learn? I can’t spend much $$ (i.e no grad school.) ps My title makes it sound like i have more background in analytics then I do :)

2017 grad so technically a 4th year. Lateraled to a CRE boutique in NYC that’s a major player. Learned quickly that my experience/knowledge/organization is not up to par (was a COG in the machine at prior firm). Just had EOY review and, though positive sounding, they’re dropping me to a 3rd year to ensure I’m not billing as a 4th year and able to do the work to learn/get up to par. I feel pretty okay about it (market salary deduction notwithstanding), but want to make sure I’m not being naive.

People who're negotiating with TCS HR. Please remember the following. 1.Offers are mostly non negotiable
2.They have strict 30-40% hike only.
3.If you ask more, they will say, I will get back to you and you wont get anymore calls. Be careful.
4.They have bands fixed like 4-6 yrs ITA and so on
Either take the offer and look out for another company or accept the offer if you need TCS somehow. Thiis my personal experience and also from this forum discussions.
