Better to occasionally cheat that give up completely.

Every week yes, if not I know I’ll binge eat.

A few things that work for me:
-I plan exception meals in advance (a donut, a food truck, etc.) and I purposefully refer to them as exception because "cheat meals" have the connotation that you're doing something wrong
-I don't keep junk food or heavily processed food in the house - if I'm REALLY craving it and it's not a planned exception meal, I'll walk my ass to the store and buy it. It forces me to go out of my way + get some physical exercise if I really want to satisfy the craving
Yes, some indulgence is good, but based on what you are eating… chocolate-yes, drugs-NO. BTW, don’t eat all 3 🍩 of them :)
I think indulging occasionally helps keep me on track overall. I find it provides me a better overall relationship to food when I don’t think of it as “bad” or “messing up.”
I typically eat something else healthier (that still has fat and protein), then give myself 2-3 hours to see if I'm still craving it. In your case I'd probably do a cut up banana or apple with heated peanut butter drizzled over it and drizzled chocolate.
If I'm still fixating, I go and buy myself whatever I'm craving in a single serving size.
