So my partner and I were recently hired as CDs, but we're exclusively being briefed on projects as the creative team. Title is CD. Pay is CD. But the work is pretty well stuff that should/could be done by an intermediate/senior team.

Is this normal? I've never worked in an agency where the CDs are briefed directly onto a project as the sole creative team, unless it's a super significant brief. Even then other teams are involved.

Not a lot happening with my brand at the moment. My CD told me to enjoy it while it lasts. But I want to try to make something good enough for my book with this extra time, since the brand I’m on just keeps the lights on here.

Can my AD and I proactively think of ideas for other brands at the agency? If so, how do we go about this without stepping on any toes? We have no idea how to do this, if we even can.
