OP, good on you for realizing the team could be doing more to sell the ideas and work.
Have a 1-on-1 heart to heart with your supervisor. It could be a a “sunset review” where you bring thoughts on how the meeting could have gone as an alternative to how it went. Or, perhaps a prep session ahead of the next creative review.
Oftentimes it’s our inclination to come up with a 1-sided narrative for what the agency will say during the presentation. Try weaving in assumptions on how the client might react — especially based on past experiences — as a way to prep thoughtful responses ahead of time. Your supervisor may be receptive to the exercise. And hell, perhaps even relieved for the collaboration and planning
I’ve been in a similar situation when I was an Acct Sup. My approach was slightly different - I went to my Group Acct Director during a 1:1 and tried to gain understanding on his decision to not push back on the client feedback.
He actually had a well thought out reason. He had a lot more context and information that I didn’t have visibility too. Awesomely - he also took it as a sign that the team needed a bit more of that visibility.
Good luck! 👍
Unfortunately it’s not your job to tell your boss what to do. I think it sucks but you asked what u should do and I’m telling you as a EVP, AD don’t say a word.

@Director I appreciate the advice.
I feel like whenever the client expresses the slightest hesitation towards our work, he will fold and say that we’ll go back and take another stab at it without any discussion of what they are hesitant towards. The client has even called him out on it too in the past.
You dont
@Director1 so I should keep letting it happen?
