Do you guys have both PCP and Ob-GYN or just one of the health care practitioner?? FYI - I’m in mid 20s with normal health history and recently started being sexually active. Contd.

Have both

like

Of the two, the PCP is going to be more useful to you in the long run, both for health maintenance and for pointing you towards specialty care when you need it. Unless you’re trying to get pregnant, you won’t need an OB at all, and a lot of the regular gynecology can be done by a good PCP. You might need to see the gyn for something like IUD insertion, but otherwise it will likely be infrequent need. You don’t need both!

like

I have both! But agree with the messages above-I got to my OB for specific things (ie. My IUD insertion and the occasional pap smear)

like

Have a PCP, OB-gyn, ENT, endocrinologist, allergist, dermatologist, and more recently a reproductive specialist. I suppose I’m going a little overboard based on the above responses 😳 😬 On a more serious note, I think you should have both.

like

I do have specific conditions 😕

like

If your insurance covers both, just have both.

like

I have both. I go to my PCP at the beginning of the year and my GYN mid-year; that way I’m getting a pretty thorough workup every 6 months or so.

like

I don’t have a PCP, just use places like CVS minute clinic if I get a cold and need meds. Other than that I have an OBGYN, dentist, and dermatologist that I see regularly. All of whom check blood pressure. Will go get a physical sometime this year just to make sure bloodwork and whatnot is onay

like

I use One Medical so my PCP does my annual and did my IUD. If you live in a city with One Medical, highly recommend joining.

like

Never had PCP before so not sure if I should have both or just one

What's a PCP?!?

Or a GP, if you’re using British English

like

I used to see both a PCP and OBGYN because I didn’t know a PCP could also do women exams. However, I was talking to a girlfriend of mine who’s a nurse and she mentioned how she didn’t understand why some women don’t have a OBGYN they like to develop a relationship for when they’re ready to have kids. We’re both 30 and while I don’t want kids now, I will in a few years so I think her point is valid and will start to see a OBGYN separately.

Attempting to renter the workforce after a 2 year hiatus due to health issues followed by the pandemic. During this time off I had minor success running a small business, but not enough to pay the bills. I have 3 YOE, 1.5 as a Loan Officer, and 1.5 as a consultant within compliance and Fintech. Please let me know of any fully remote positions, or hybrid positions based out of Chicago or Milwaukee. I live in Dubuque IA, so for in office work it would have to be in Dubuque. TIA!

Bit of a unique situation. I think my offices FDD team is falling apart. Since covid, 1/1 partner resigned , 2/3 of SM quit, 2/2 managers quit. I’m a bit concerned with deal flow moving forward. What would you do in this situation? Should I try to jump to another firm? Maybe ask for a raise? Honestly I am getting pretty crispy mental health wise

Besides decently high pay (compared to other countries), freedom (speech, voting, "opportunities"), diversity (primarily coastal states), what are some other good things about America? Wanna be grateful, but America's deepest flaws have really been exposed this past year (racism, government inefficiencies, struggling health care systems, expensive health care, gun violence, poor grade school education systems...). Don't see these getting better anytime soon

Has anybody adopted or considering to adopt. I am torn :( Multiple failed cycles. Next option is donor but insurance wont cover it, even though anthem says about donor in the policy. Anyone use Deloitte insurance for donor egg? If we have to pay 50k out of pocket, is it really worth it or better to adopt?

In the instruction my lawyer sent, the next step is to receive the EAD card, and no mention of medical exam. But I heard lots of others mentioned they needed to do the medical exam before the interview?

Genuinely interested in educating myself. Some people are applauding Simone Biles for withdrawing from Olympics. I am trying to understand how mental health suddenly becomes an issue in a few days? It isn’t like a bone fracture that happens suddenly. Wouldn’t Simone (who has gone through hundreds of competitions) have known the scrutiny an olympic demands to have not participated in the first place? A genuine request - please refrain from attacking or posting non-constructive comments.

Simone Biles showed the world that there’s no such thing as the wrong time to prioritize your health and safety. It might be inconvenient and costly, but it is never wrong.
