Do you guys think that working in NYC/LA ( big markets) and working in smaller markets ( Midwest, southwest, north east ( excluding tri states)) have the same Grueling hours?

I went from NER and SER and saw a slight decrease in hours. Although, it largely depends on the clients you have. Office culture my also contribute to the overall environment.

LA is more lax (no pun intended) than North East.

Depends on the group - there’s no definitive answer that applies to everyone in that particular office

As EY2 said, depends on group and client. For example, LA could be more lax unless you're on a client like Oaktree. Then the hours are the same and vice versa.

NYC and surrounding areas generally work longer. Certainly does vary by group but We have more “failures” of people who move to NY from other parts of the country who end up not being able to handle the pace of life and work. There is a reason for the lyrics about NY that “if you can make it here, you can make it anywhere”.

Why did you assume my gender?

Need advice! I need to pay for repairs at home. Which would be the best action: 1. Sell some stock in my ROTH IRA and take 2k out (part of after tax contribution last year) 2. Charge the 2k on a 0% credit card, but add on 3% coz of credit card processing fee by vendor.

I’ve have had a mix of Chase Sapphire, Marriott and Amex cards for a while - since I traveled for work. Now moving to a remote role- focusing on 2 nice international family trips a year. Is it worth moving everything to an airline miles card - getting more bang for your buck with business class upgrades? Or how should I think about my CC strategy?

Hi all - Looking for recommendations on where to live in NYC. Few things Im looking for: - looking for diversity in general; lived in Boston suburbs and felt like it was way too homogeneous - we’re a korean family with young kids; really enjoy/appreciate korean culture/food/etc - looking for great public school district (perhaps most important) as kids are kindergarten age - SO works in Queens; I’ll likely work in Manhattan (to the extent commute matters) Thanks in advance for any thoughts!!
