Depends on colors used on your company's logo

I like to keep my sheets pretty simple and clean looking. My standard formatting, not just color:
- Remove gridlines
- Empty row at the top and empty column on the left
- FREEZE PANES under your headers and and by any columns you want to remain visible. If you don’t do anything else, please please please do this
- Add filter
- light grey borders around my data / tables
- header row - dark fill, usually a grayish blue, and bold white font

I use the table with the dark blue header and banded rows as my go-to. Clients love that shit.

For larger sheets, I like a TOC at the front with hyperlinks. Because I have a lot of exhibits (“Exhibit FB-1 - Historic Earnings”) and they change a lot (which is a huge pain in the ass), i use vlookup to match the exhibit name to the description. And then I use VBA to automatically change the tab name to match the description. Only drawback is if the name is too long for the tab - have to be creative .

I get weird at times about column size. All equal. Or all the next highest even number. Depends on how fast I need to put it together and if it’s a demonstrative or not

like

I have to make the whole tab white before I do anything else.

The shortcut is alt + w + v + g

You can hide unused columns at the right of your sheet and add a cover page and TOC to the workbook

I always use the most rich version of the clients logo colors as headings. If I'm going to spend more than 5 minutes on the Excel work book (up to hours) I want it to be more interesting than a grey header and black text. Usually end up using blues, purples, and greens though

I like the slipstream color scheme personally

like

I use black, grays and whites

Oh I doooooo. Only if they are input fields

My partner just got his first job offer in Canada (Toronto) as an Account Manager Technical Sales in oil and gas sector. They required 2-5 years sales experience. He has about 8 years of experience selling the same product in an Asian market. They have offered him a base pay of 68k plus some comission (they haven't said what percentage it would be yet). Based on glassdoor, it seems like this is the very bottom of their range. Does this sound fair just because he has no Canadian experience?

Help! I want to create a formula that calculates the % that each person is on-time. Below is an illustrative example. What’s the best way to do this? It’s like I have to combine the vlookup of Name but also count only if Yes and divided by All CountA for that person. Seems simple but I haven’t found an elegant solution and maybe did the conditional nesting wrong :(. The goal is to create a formula and not just filter and calculate bc it will new data will be added continuously.

Hello All,
Excel help please. I’m trying to combine 3 tabs into 1. So on tabs a,b,c I have wire instructions that go to different places, but they all have the same field names/format. However the number of rows for each tab will vary from day to day. I need to make a fourth tab that shows all the rows from a,b,c consecutively. Because the number of rows change, I can’t find the best way to collate all the rows into one table. I can use a macro or lookups or a source formula. Please advise!

Hi! Disclaimer: not an excel genius…

I’m trying to use the lookup function to grab data from a worksheet within the same workbook. I want the column to reference the cost code in one worksheet, find the cost code in the other and display the billed to date associated with it. The problem is that it repeats an amount randomly. There will be multiples then a blank cell in one that I know has a cost associated with it.
