What is your top favorite lesson? Mine would be one last year when I had to find the time to get into the classrooms and teach. I led a talk about the Harlem Renaissance and the kids made a jazz collage. It will be much easier with the art room back open.
Does anyone use Fundations in 1st grade? We are piloting it in our district as a tier 1 for all kids as our daily phonics program. Trying to figure out how to set up classroom w/ all individual tools?
What's one amazing thing you've seen happen in your classroom or school recently?

What are some LGBTQ+ books you would like to see included in a classroom library?
My choice would have to be “Prince & Knight” by Daniel Haack.
I teach PreK in a public school. Our state allows PreK programs to nap without masks if proper ventilation is provided. I have 16 children, a minimum of 3 feet apart, no masks, with two LOUD air filters, two tiny windows open, the outside and hall door open, at average in 72-76 degrees. What is your childcare classroom doing for rest time?
If you wold like some assistance with classroom management or even managing your ow children, check this out.
I would love to start teaching and learning outside the classroom walls. I would like to start working with middle school U.S. SS classes in other parts of the US. I'm in NJ, let me know if interested
Hi everyone!!! Last year I put together a list of classrooms to exchange valentines with! We mailed 1 valentine to each class and included a picture if we could, and a few things about where we live and things we do!
I currently have 13 classes signed up! The more the merrier!!
We have classes CA, WI, PA, KS, TX, RI, MI, Canada, New Zealand.
I have a form to fill out if you are interested! I will email everyone the list probably at the end of the week if not sooner!
What are some of the best practices I can incorporate within my classroom to promote social justice? I feel like a lot of my students don't really grasp this issue.
Is anyone else returning to fully in person learning? We have been hybrid/synchronous since September, which has been very hard and not very effective. They want us to have all Kindergarten students come back in March. I want to stop live teaching over google meet all day while also teaching my students in person at the same time, but there is not enough space in my classroom for safe distancing, not enough space for movement, and sitting at a desk all day is not appropriate for K kids!
Dropping this in a few bowls, sorry if you see it twice.
I'm transitioning from teaching 8th grade mathematics at a public school to teaching a 7/8 self-contained classroom at a charter school.
Any advice for teaching mixed grade levels or multi subject is appreciated: scheduling, classroom setup, subject order, behavior management, etc. I'm struggling to find my rhythm with only 6 weeks before kids return.
Thanks to everyone for your commitment and time, enjoy your summer!
I am working on putting a PD session together for new teachers about using tech in the classroom. What tools/skills do new teachers need to know when they get started (other than learning their school's grading/attendance platform)?
I need to talk with a teacher about inappropriate behavior some parents are complaining that she has in the classroom. How do I approach this without accusing her or making her feel ambushed?
If you’re worried about the classroom climate help with this resource. Helps kids transition back with empathy and equity for remote learners!
Hi music teachers! How are you surviving? I’ve been teaching band and choir for a long time, but distance learning and Zoom has me stumped. I’m lucky to have a job, I realize. What are some things you’re doing in your virtual classrooms that your music students enjoy?
Does anyone use Wit and Wisdom in their classroom, and have any advice? What are the pros and cons? We will be rolling it out in August.
Happy CTE Month! THANK YOU for the magic you make happen everyday in your classrooms. How does your state/district/school recognize CTE during this time?
Anyone has experience getting 100% off thyroid medication after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism? What treatment did you follow and how long did it take?
Which Neobanks is everyone using?
“How’s it going?”
“Good, just living the dream"
Now this is some direct marketing that works
Friend started networking for MBB 4 months before anticipated interview date. Little case prep. Partner asked “fun” question how they’d approach something ~ totally caught off guard 😟. Friend wasn’t structured, nervous, thinks the convo will hurt her. She didn’t get a reply to her follow up....(1/2)
How long before it's reasonable to look for a new job? Been here 3.5 months, and not being challenged or fully utilized despite my requests/efforts/experience.
Brand/prestige-wise - and I know this shouldn’t matter - but H/S/W is thought of as the “top” right? Then rest of M7? Or is M7 pretty much all tier 1/same level? Trying to understand reputations
In need of some inspiration. Would love to hear some success stories. Any stories of strong women pushing through tough times and rising to the top would be much appreciated.
Spending 1 week in Ireland/Northern Ireland and another week in Scotland/North UK (will have a car for the second week) mid-end of August. Any must-see highlights, recs?

Folks on h1! Do you’ll max out 401k, HSA, IRA etc. given then we might not be here in the next few years (at least that’s what our plan is)

Leaving the firm to take a mental health break. I do not have anything lined up (still in interview process).
What do I tell my managers/leadership when they ask where I am exiting to?
Anyone have insights on Berkeley Partnership -specifically NY expansion? Seems like a different / interesting option and curious if anyone has worked with them.

I teach SpEd so out jobs are minimal. Calendar, weather, line leader, caboose and substitute. We had librarian but I had to block the bookshelves recently.
Line leader, caboose, set up/clean up crew, runners, substitute, play leaders, librarians, technician
Morning meet manager, weather reporter, lunch menu reporter, calendar reporter, shredder, mail person, dishwasher, laundry helper, sweeper, photo copier, clean counters, empty trash, wipe door handles, take out the flowers, organize library, wipe tables, sharpen pencils, attendance, answer phone, turn on/off lights, grass blower, turn on/off computers are some of the jobs I use or have used in my class. All classes are at different levels. If you have something in your classroom that you can show your students how to use, clean or fix, then add it to your list. Good luck.
