My school has a lot of children with adverse childhood experiences. We did an activity I called "Safety Island" where we talked as a class and drew all of the things that made us feel safe on the island. I'm changing classroom themes this year, and thinking to try a more interactive, velcro word wall. Our word wall is just...there. I want to make flip chart stories for Language that include blank velcro spaces for our words, so that the kids see me pull and use them in read aloud examples.

Anyone else tried this? I'm hoping for durability through weekly use, here...
