Process tips for finding the right in-house counsel role would be much appreciated! I’m currently a 4th year (going on to be a 5th year) M&A associate at a V5. I think I likely will stay for another year or so at my firm, to build more experience and also save up some more money. When should I start looking for in-house? Should I apply to multiple, try interviewing with a few of them? How does one come to decide whether they want an early stage, series C, D, E, or public c, small team, etc.?
Can’t fail a final round in my opinion. If you make it to final round for anything, they’ve decided you can do the job already. It then becomes a question of whether you’re the best or even just the consensus choice — no notion of failure.
