No regrets here. If you can, pursue the MBA/JD program. Strong ROI in the short and long run.

Depends what you want to do. CFA could be better choice and cheaper (especially if firm pays). Saving Bschool for a pivot, if and when that time comes.

like

Yes, looking back I'd not do it again. The experience and networks are great but the cost (fees and not earning) don't justify it. Think CFA is better value, but don't know how an analyst would have the capacity to study for it...

Absolutely!

I am hoping to pivot to Product Management or Data Science.

I’m struggling to see the value of a MBA as a consultant. If you come back to consulting, you lose career progression. You can’t really go to PE/VC from MBA with a consulting background only. A MBA will not help you get any job in tech any more than your consulting experience would. Same with industry jobs. What’s the value other than a free 2 year party/networking session assuming you return to your firm?

I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

At the end of the week I also end up with a bunch (50+) of open Outlook windows related to meeting invites. Basically, I look at my calendar, double click the invite then join the Zoom meeting. It takes me directly into the meeting and leaves the invite window open. Wash, rinse, repeat and by Friday there is literally one for every meeting I attended. Unfortunately, you can’t close them all together because it will ask you “Want to save your changes?” for every single one. Thoughts?
