Do you have leadership respecting the team’s PTO and firm holidays?

Sooo ready for the holiday party on Friday.

Is it reasonable to ask for three weeks before joining a new company? I was thinking a two week notice and a week vacation to take a breath. What do you think ?

What is it about clients that obligates them to go on vacation as we’re preparing to close on a deal (or they decide to leave the country the morning of closing)? Is it something in the water?

About to start work travel again and will be traveling to WA from NY. Also, going to Asia in a few weeks for vacation (Cathay flight). I have a bit of points on AA. But thinking if I should switch to Alaska or Cathay? Idk if it matters and am new to this so hoping someone can steer me in thinking this out

I have chronic health issues and I’m severely depressed. I can’t even get myself to work anymore. If I don’t quit, I’m in serious danger of being fired. I feel that I need to just quit and take time off to get better but feel that it will be a stain on my career. I’m a pretty junior lawyer. Any advice. I just can’t do any work at all and I’m my anxiety and depression is spiraling out of control. I see a therapist I try to cope and it’s not working.

A sign I need to fire some clients: when my out of office email reply hits the next reaction is to immediately call my cellphone. Nope. Call the number I left in the email to gain assistance. I cannot help you from jury duty, the doctor’s office, vacation, or anywhere else I might be when the auto replay directs you elsewhere.

Do any firms give you “billable time” equivalent for taking vacation or time off? I think it’s kinda scammy that firms offer “unlimited pto” but still expect you to meet your hours without giving any hours equivalent for that PTO time you took. In reality, you’re not really taking PAID time off because you’ll have to make up those hours at some point in the year anyway.

What consulting firms have the best WLB? How many hours per week do you work? Are weekends safe? Is vacation safe?

Have seen comp for NACR (restructuring) listed at around 150-200 for analysts, 200-275 for associates, and one mention of senior associates at 375k. Supposedly NACR gets crushed in terms of hours. But i've also read that targets are around 2000 hours per year? Something doesn't add up.....e.g. Associate $550/hr * 25% cap rate * 2000 billable hrs = $275k.......but 2000 hours is slightly over 40 hours a week (including 4 weeks vacay), not the 80 hr/week. So is there a ton of time on vacation?

EY 🐠 - potentially starting with the firm soon, and my partner is due to have our first in April. Given the 1 year service requirement for leave, would I have the option to take PTO during birth and use parental leave after my 1 year of service? Appreciate any guidance here

CCTC-18, YOE -7.5, QA automation Offer in hand- 28 LPA, 75 days NP left Accenture is retaining with 25%hike and leadership told that remaining 25% will be covered in the dec cycle. Should I consider this offer or look for outside opportunities. I feel that getting 28+ package will be difficult at my YOE and techstack. Also, there might be some onshore opportunities in near future in current project. Please suggest.
