I am a Principal Solutions Architect with 13 YOE of which 5 years exp is with Biotech focusing on Public Cloud (AWS) & overall AWS exp. 9 years. I need suggestions /opinions if applying for a Senior Solutions Architect (Level6) at AWS makes sense or if I should aim for a Principal SA (level 7) role at AWS with Healthcare & Lifesciences industry experience. If it makes any difference, I worked for AWS ProServe as an external SA in the past. Any insights / feedback appreciated.

I don’t. Curious if others do.
I use thimble. They have a monthly plan you can stop/start as needed. Also comes out to about 1k/yr if you go for the whole year. I had looked at Hiscox as well but their insurance only covers you on a “claims made” basis- so for example, if you’re covered by Hiscox and you stop the policy and someone sues a year later, you’re not covered. An “occurrence” policy lets you be covered for the work you do no matter when the claim is filed.

gotcha. Yes, hiscox covers you when the claim was issued, not when the work was done. I thought that was interesting too..
Sheesh what is that even used for as a freelance ad? Legitimately wondering

I’m always asked for insurance at all the larger holding companies.. almost never really asked at the smaller independent creative shops.
Anybody had to deal with claims yet, either with hiscox or thimble?

nope. *crosses fingers*
Haven't had to get it yet. Small agencies didn't ask. On large one did but they had to on-board me as W2 anyway for other reasons so I was covered br that. Figure if I ever want a contract that requires it I'll look into it more then

correct. insurance is only needed for w9/1099 work.
