Is 120k salary enough to enjoy DC ?
Hi Fishies! (Is that what we are? I’m going with it)
I just came across a Google Research and Insights role that got me SUPER excited and I was about to apply when I had the idea of seeing if anyone would be willing to give me a referral. I understand (and respect) that most of you Googlers on here feel that a referral is only useful if you know the person but I would be happy to jump on the phone to give you some info about me. It would mean so much! 4 YOE at a major audio steaming service
I recently interviewed for L7 EM at Google and had 4 great interviews and one not so great system design. I submitted external referrals all of which gave great feedback. The recruiter said the next step is team match/interviews and then the HC. Anyone in a similar situation? What was the result? Google
Black strap is my new favorite on this guy

I was permitted to purchase a license. When in public I preferred to use Checkpoint but when I evaluated all of them I found BNA proved to be the best value. I also happen to prefer their forms tool anyway. Whatever keeps me away from CCH I’m okay with.
The cost (under $10k) was more than I thought but not outrageous and it’s better than google for more technical topics.
Our tax dept is 15 people including the VP and we have a BNA. I still prefer the checkpoint but BNA is just as good in terms of content and user experience. As long as I don’t have to deal with CCH I’m fine 😂
I actually prefer cch 🤷♂️
What do people think of Tax Analysts?
That’s a funny question?
We had several when I was in industry. But our tax department was well respected and high value-add. Depends on the company.
Depends on a company. I've always had one, even when our tax department budget was cut significantly. A friend of mine worked in a small PA firm and she had to make do with Google.
Most clients I know have at least one of the tools but not all like we have at EY. If it’s a really small tax department that doesn’t have anything you could probably make the case for subscribing to one if it really is necessary and makes your job more efficient. No harm in asking.
I always have had them in my industry jobs.
When I was in industry, we had one checkpoint that we shared. We were a budding tax department though. I heavily relied on google/contacting department of revenues mostly for exact answers
