Need some advice—I’m 26wks pregnant and interviewing for new job Monday. They know I’m pregnant already. If they offer me the job, I’ll probably work for 9wks before needing to go out for the baby. How should I negotiate maternity leave? I won’t be eligible for FMLA, but I’ll do the state leave after birth for 8wks. Should I ask them to grant me a few weeks of paid leave as a PTO advance? Thoughts? Ideas?

How do maternity benefits work for NJ? 16 weeks paid leave?

Just scheduled a meeting to go over an offer for a Senior Engineer role. When asked what I would need to make in order to leave my current job, I said at least $160k depending on benefits (I know I shouldn't have given a number).

I make a little over $145k now, plus stock options, a monthly home office stipend (fully remote), and your usual health benefits.

Assuming their benefits are comparable to my current position, have I given up all negotiation power by providing the initial number?

Holding offer: 19 lpa cognizant 17.8 is fixed with 50k Bonus. Position is Senior Associate

and CGI 15 Fixed , 3% variable, 2L joining bonus.

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Getting really frustrated with my job. Im by far the busiest associate my year level, and there are 2 people in my group who literally have no work at all. I feel like I keep missing targets and the partners are disappointed in me, but it’s hard to motivate when I see others not doing anything.
