Yes, at it's present cash value and it is about 5% of my NW. My pension is dormant so no more contributions, l and it is just going to grow 5%/yr.

I only update it annually.

When I was at EY, I did include the present value because there it listed the value I could rollover when I left.

like

Same!

Nope. Can’t count on it unless it’s government. Plus it feels a bit much like when growing up and the difference between being 5 and 5 and a half was a BIG deal.

I just switched to govt - so yes in terms of future projections for FIRE calcs.

Hey folks, what do you do with your take home after expenses? Do you put it in HYSA or invest? Robinhood? ETFs? Specific stocks? Is there a good resource on investing as H1B out there?

We are moving from Europe to the US and the company is fairly open to building an expat package, with initial suggestions (relocation costs, rent expense, flights home, adj salary) reasonably generous. Healthcare in there too, but not yet clear on what this entails in the US.
Any advice on what else we should think about asking for or negotiating?

So my fiancé and I are having a microwedding in Rocky Mountain National Park next year, and we’re working with an elopement planner.
She sent over a sample ceremony (intro, sweet poems + passages to be read, and example vows), and we read through it last night. I was reading it out loud while my fiancé made dinner, and it just hit me that this is really happening. I’m just really happy that I found someone who is willing to take a vow to spend his life with me and I’m so excited for that day :)

Topic : Major IT companies revokes freshers offer letters!

Dear Mass recruiting companies, Now onwards please don't lecture only the employees in terms of ethics, moon lighting. Please look inwards and introspect yourself too.

Just few months back you hired freshers and now offer letter is revoked. This is a cycle, When there is excess demand, candidate do the same and when the demand subsides employers does it to candidate. So there is no point in crying when employees give it back to you!

Have money invested in S&P 500, and now starting to regret not having diversified to international stocks as well. Would want to diversify now to buy a total stock market index, however since S&P 500 dropped more than that index, not sure it’s worth to crystallize losses to do that. The alternative is to stop buying S&P 500 and start buying other markets as separate ETFs, to eventually bring in line approx. with total stock market index. Any advice on the best course of action?
