Do you keep a physical grade book or online one? I started using an online one this year, which is easy/convenient but there's something about writing lessons by hand that helps me remember it better

I do both paper and online. Sometimes when I'm grading I don't have anything but my phone with me. A pain to input into phone. Also, I know I'm human. I could accidentally input the wrong grade in when I'm going fast. This is a double check for me. Although I tell students to always keep their papers in case they think I've made a mistake, I know many of them don't keep a good binder. I feel better knowing I have both.

I keep both. Paper, because I'm old school and don't always want to bring up the online one when a student asks me what they're missing, and an online one we are directed to use by the district. The students can access the online one, though many don't care enough about their grades to do so. The online one is usually about a week behind my paper one, though I make sure to catch up before we run eligibility for the coming week.

Both online & hard copy, but I print a spreadsheet for grades and attendance instead of an actual gradebook

Same here

I do both. I grade papers and write them in the hard copy book since it’s alphabetical, then when I go to type it into the online grade book it’s super fast and I don’t have to go searching for a kids name.

I keep an online grade book in Infinite Campus. If I need to have something hard copy, I’ll print a copy of what is in the computer each time I post.

Infinite Campus only. 🙏🏾 I never lose my data!

I used to only use Infinite Campus but about 5 years ago, the counselors switched the students schedule incorrectly and ALL of their grades were lost. So now I keep a paper copy and them forward it to IC once a week. More work for me but at least I'm covered in case something like that was to happen.

I use infinite campus. I hate it!

I would keep one of each. We have had issues at the school I work at with our technology. Always keep a written, up to date book with you. You never know when you will need it.

Lesson learnt - make your social media accounts secure (don’t make your Facebook profile profile). He has blocked me since then, so I couldn’t report his profile

Sharing a helpful tool to increase discipline. “The 5 Second Rule is simple. If you have an instinct to act on a goal, you must physically move within 5 seconds or your brain will kill it.
The moment you feel an instinct or a desire to act on a goal or a commitment, use the Rule.
When you feel yourself hesitate before doing something that you know you should do, count 5-4-3-2-1-GO and move towards action.”
