I am on notice period with Tata Consultancy with 2 months remaining with an offer in hand where the joining date is just after notice period ends. Now, I got early release from current company and thus, I saved 2 months. But I want to use these 2 months for travelling, upskilling and looking for better offers instead of contacting the new company for early joining. So, if I join the new company after 2 months will this be considered as a 'gap' in my profile in the future and will it be harmful?

Why wouldn't you let the client know you're on PTO? I've been on the client side for the past few years and you can bet it looks worse from my perspective if a consultant doesn't have an OOO when I email them.

Why would it reflect poorly? Pto is pto - just add the contact info for person/people to reach out to in your absence and you'll be fine. All consultants are ultimately replaceable from a client perspective, but not being transparent can create actual optics issues if you are late to respond
Both. I post different messages, but when I’m on vacation, I don’t want there to be any confusion about my absence.
