Microsoft Teams is driving me crazy. I feel like I’m always at work. Yesterday I was at a family bbq and I was constantly getting pinged. Every time I get a message notification I feel like I’m about to have a panic attack.
Where are the office Halloween zoom pics???
Where are my SoFla people at? 25 M looking to have an intelligent conversation that isn't on zoom...
I'm having difficulty making personal connections with students this year. I teach hybrid, so I have a room half full of students in front of me and half at home on zoom. I have tried playing educational games, I greet them each time I see them, I try to do small talk, I make positive comments on their work, it just isn't happening. Any ideas?
I was having IT issues when my firm migrated to Microsoft teams. I was getting help and they took control to do their trouble shooting. After fixing the issue, he suddenly video called himself to test it all works. I was laying in bed naked when the cam turned on 💀
Anyone else at a firm so rooted in the past that you’re embarrassed explaining it to other attorneys? Example: We are 10 months into COVID and my firm still hasn’t decided on/implemented a video meeting platform (Zoom, Teams, etc.). So if I want to have a video meeting I have to ask the other party to use their video services. And it’s not at all a funding issue.
Recommendations for a good webcam for Zoom meetings? My laptop camera isn’t cutting it anymore.
I have an exploratory call with a recruiter to determine opportunities I’m interested in. It’s a Zoom call. Would you dress up for it?
Brutal 2 weeks. Weekend of work. SM micromanaging. Pick up someone's slack and they 🔨 your head. What is wrong with this people?
None of my Zoom meetings have been hacked or compromised, do the hackers think im ugly ?
The number of apps/utility tools we’re using is ridiculous. I probably spend an hour of my day just reading Basecamp 2, Basecamp 3, Wrike, Microsoft Teams, and slack notifications
Looking for referrals on affordable, competent TPAs for SoloKs over $250k and traditional unbundled 401ks. Looking for Illinois and SoCal, but if they are good I don't care where they are located, if they can do Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
When everyone is getting more than they’re full of Zoom meetings, what are some other ways to keep employees engaged, connected, and feeling like they’re part of something important?
Remind me what it’s like working for a firm where people know how to use technology? Nobody at my firm knows how to use zoom. They don’t know how to share a screen. So they use their phone camera and it’s lopsided and shaky.
I am 9 months pregnant and my firm offers 16 weeks maternity leave. Well, it just so happens that I was offered a job at a new firm, and they are flexible with start date but do not provide maternity leave (understandable since I don't even work there yet). Is it possible to accept the new job with a January start date, but not tell my current firm until a normal notice period ends, so I can keep mat leave? No payback requirements or anything. Would they know somehow?
Anyone done the Kellogg video essays yet? Is the COVID question still the same from the 2020 cycle? Would also appreciate any general advice you have for them
Business ideas in these trouble times? Either for profit or for impact. Thinking about Covid19 of course (Healthcare, quarantine, wfh...) but the recession (unemployment) or future end of recession..
I applied at my dream agency 4 months ago and although it didn't lead to anything, i got an email from the CD (addressing me specifically) saying my profile is interesting, etc. which leads me to...
My manager doesn’t seem to have any boundaries - always saying yes to additional unnecessary work from the client and always working through weekends/nights/PTO/holidays. They are supportive of encouraging everyone else to have a WLB but since they don’t lead by example it ends up making me feel like I’m doing something wrong or crossing a line whenever I set a boundary with them or push back on a request that doesn’t align with our goals or priorities
🎉🎉 With the news of Pfizer’s potential vaccine and this, I feel more confident that America will beat this virus under a new administration. https://www.npr.org/sections/live-updates-2020-election-results/2020/11/09/933002962/president-elect-biden-names-13-experts-to-covid-19-transition-advisory-board
Senior leadership requests you to apply for a position working directly with/for them and you do not want to, is there a way to graciously acknowledge without making a career limiting/ending move?
How has COVID impacted you? I'm in a very rural county and now WFH. 10 deaths so far that were all LTC to my knowledge. The only person I've seen wear a mask in the last month was me. We've had 100 cases or so confirmed which were all LTC or from a factory on the edge of our county. How are you city folk doing? Sing me the song of your people.
How difficult is it to transition from an Expert to a Generalist track at Bain & Company at the pre-MBA level?
If your employer did one thing in response to coronavirus, what would you want that one thing to be?
So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?
What’s the best way to capitalize on this hot market right now? Just applying on LinkedIn? Trying to find an application strategy but not sure where to start.
