Canceling Zoom sessions is kinda like taking a day off without all the headaches. We're hybrid and the kids are not showing up ( virtual or in person). Still have to be on campus. Canceled Zoom yesterday and today. Feels like a real work day without all the extra BS. Got a ton of stuff done and no fistfights over the copy machines.
This is random, but does anyone know if it causes a problem if I (an attorney) sit in with my dad for jury selection? They want to select via zoom and my dad is not familiar with the app (retired doc in his 70s), so he asked the clerk (I imagine it’s the clerk) if I could sit in with him. Clerk thought it would be okay, but would have to ask judge. Does anyone have familiarity with this? I’m a Corp attorney barred in another state and have done jury duty before, so I imagine no issues…
New to the job and I’m finding it impossible to speak up in Zoom brainstorm sessions. I don’t know what’s wrong but my anxiety flies through the roof when we get on and I can’t get myself to speak for the entire session. I feel like my peers are hyper aware of it, which only makes me more anxious. Does this happen to anyone else?
I hardly ever log on to skype for business and it feels like I’m the only staff in my office that isn’t always chatting with people throughout the day. Anyone else? Could this be seen as a bad thing?
Need some advice... I started at a new agency recently. Almost immediately upon meeting one of my male colleagues (over zoom) I felt this attraction and genuine connection. Context: he’s 11 years older than me but both of us are single, never been married, no kids, etc. he’s not my boss and we don’t technically work together on projects. I want to get to know him better but don’t really know how to approach the situation (or if I even should) without it being inappropriate or awkward. Thoughts?
Had no problem speaking in meetings in person. Can’t seem to get a word in edgewise on Zoom. Any advice?
Any idea what FB recruiters use for initial calls? Zoom, Teams, WebEx (god forbid), or just old school phone call?
So, just what did Nick Emery do to get fired? ‘Prank gone wrong on zoom’ is all I’m hearing
What applications does Accenture use? I’m guessing Microsoft Teams, Excel, Pwpt? Or is Zoom also in that?
Never thought that I'd have such a strong opinion about Verizon dial-in info versus Skype for Business dial-in info.
Funniest Zoom background?
Let's settle this once and for all. Teams or Slack. Support your answer, especially if you've used both extensively.
Who works with nonprofits? Have a chance to set up a pseudo-endowment (all the benefits, none of the withdrawal restrictions) and I’d like to know what you’d charge on 500k - 3mm.

Best part of working in big law — not the comp.
Okay to renege on a lateral offer that I already accepted (prior to Covid-19 outbreak)? Anxiety is high moving in a time like this and now would rather stay put.
Could anyone share some insight on compensation for manager roles in financial reporting and/or technical accounting? Curious to see what people have jumped for when they left PA for these types of jobs.

I'm currently interviewing for kernel developer positions at #Google and #Apple. Both seem to be going well and I feel I'll be getting an offer soon. Most probably from Apple. I have to say that the location is in Tokyo, where I'm based. Now, tech salaries in Japan are low and I'm therefore wondering if these two companies offer different salaries for the same job across different countries. Should I expect a typical Japanese salary range, considering they're in the same team with the US folks?
Is it true that EY Immigration Team does a terrible job of putting together documentation for H1B related stuff? Off late I have seen so many threads around this, and all the people who had contd..

The year is 2023 and the ad agency you started has made the list of top creative agencies. Your company allows for remote work but the agency also has a physical location as the main office. What city would you have your office located in and why?
I've just been reminded on how amazing a TUMI carry-on is. Currently using my non-TUMI for travel. 😢
