Okay, so I’m a young high school ESL teacher (19 years old, already certified and graduated college two years early). I get slack all the time from older teachers that are jealous because they see good performance numbers from my students however in reality, I just love teaching and have been doing it since I was 9! How do you deal with jealousy from teachers always judging every little thing about you?
Just got the axe, it’s weirdly nice to be laid off via Zoom and not walk the plank to HR and have everyone see me publicly crying. Time to crack a beer for sure.
Tbh, I just start vigorously nodding my head on Zoom when I see the partner doing so. Idk what’s happening in these client calls
Had no problem speaking in meetings in person. Can’t seem to get a word in edgewise on Zoom. Any advice?
How do you have a Zoom chat? Do you need a membership? Anyone in this group want to do a zoom chat? Would be great talking to people in this group.
So I just got to my 3rd round interview, now meeting with whole accounting team individually through Zoom, is this a good sign and is there anything I need to be aware of?
What are innovative techniques for creating customer story video content in a post-Covid environment? Can’t do shoots and trying to avoid Zoom calls.
When you and your manager randomly geek out about VR over Skype instead of finishing up a deliverable - Friday's, am I right? 😎
Anyone have a great CFP that works with folks remotely (I.e., via Skype or FaceTime) or in Boston? Looking to learn about the unknown, e.g., tax loss harvesting, 529s and other similar vehicles, etc
Eli5: Please explain to me how Zoom became a thing? We use/used Skype or Cisco for video conf. calls (and those were rare, we don’t need to see each other to focus on the call?).
Slack is like the significant other that leaves you and you realize just how much they meant to you...
Hello all 👋 I am third year college student looking for mentors in the field of product/program management. I am lacking someone to talk to about finding opportunities and how to grow as a student PM for internship and eventually full time opportunities. Campus recruiters: I am not a premium employer on Handshake but I want to host a multi-school virtual info session. Can’t I use the same link for a Teams meeting (or Zoom or whatever) and request events at each of the schools I’m targeting? I know that’s a lot of manual work to set up the individual school events but is there any reason that wouldn’t work? It’s been a while since I’ve had to do this and I don’t want to have to re-do anything and look messy! Thanks for any tips in advance!
Is it the right time to buy Zoom?
Let's settle this once and for all. Teams or Slack. Support your answer, especially if you've used both extensively.
Elon Musk says 'civilization is going to crumble' if people don't have more children. How is this true? Isn’t overpopulation the root cause of almost all our problems, specifically things like climate change, lack of housing, and traffic? I feel like a global one child policy would make the world lot better, it would reduce humanities total carbon footprint.
Anyone have insight into revenue accounting? I’m interviewing for a sr revenue accountant position and wondering if it’ll be too pigeonholed. I also have zero background in this type of accounting so it would be completely new to me, but the hiring manager didn’t seem to mind that I don’t have any experience in this area. I’m fed up with the hours and lack of support in public and want to leave before next busy season for context.
How do you handle family and friends wanting to visit you from out of state during covid? I’m just trying to be safe and everyone is taking it personal that I’d rather wait for in person vacations and trips once everything dies down
I am doing UXR interviews, and although I read that a background in design isn’t necessary for UXR, I have been asked a few times now whether I have experience in design and can use design apps. I have applied research experience and a solid understanding of product development, which I think should land me a UXR role one day, but I’d to hear any thoughts though if you think design knowledge is necessary for UXR?
Would it be insane to buy a 1 bd home if there’s a possibility of having a kid in the next ~3 years? Assuming we’d have to look for a 2 bd if we do have a kid and try to rent/sell the 1 bd
Anyone looking to exit consulting into Product Management roles in tech and starting to do mock interviews or have already started interviewing? Any advice from your experience so far? Please DM if you’re interested in doing some mock interviews.

I'm moving to Jersey City from West coast and considering to move my home office to Deloitte NYC. For tax purposes how much difference would it make to be tagged to Jersey City office? My preference would be to go to NYC office once in a while but how's the Jersey City Deloitte office like?
Is it normal to have your resume used to help with a proposal on a deal? I got an email about this. I’m assuming they want to use my resume to sell a deal but maybe not work on the project. It came from an MD. If someone could break down how this works, l would appreciate it.
New fish looking for career guidance. I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation. I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm. Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?
I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!
A sleepy summer Sunday watching the end of a great test cricket match, grabbing a beer with friends and glorious weather. Honestly it is the first day since covid that life feels normal for me
