The skills needed to prepare for & ace case interviews are similar to skills needed to succeed on the job. If you can’t clear those communication, organization, sociability etc baselines, they’ll question your ability to succeed. Don’t highlight these weaknesses, work on strengthening them.

I always talk about it. My neurodivergence has shaped who I am and how I operate. Sure, it contributes to my weaknesses, and I’m open and honest about how I build systems to overcome those. But it also contributes to my strengths. I’m better than others at strategic thinking because my ADHD makes me an abstract-random learner and thinker. My ADHD helps me have a positive attitude about working on multiple projects at once because it’s more fun than one long task all day. My ADHD has taught me so much about people and so as a manager, I’m more flexible and compassionate to my staff, leading to happier and more loyal people.

ADHD is going to keep being a secret if we don’t talk about it. I always say in interviews that I’d love to be a culture *add* at my new company and help them build support for neurodivergence in the workforce.

And, I’ll add, I just did this when interviewing with the CEO of a new job, and got the offer nearly immediately afterward :) I start the new job soon!

I do. 1) I think everyone likes a diversity hire and 2) I work it into my negotiations with respect to the expectations of the company and myself.

Does this role require me to be in a bunch meetings - if yes, what reasonable agreement can we make to make sure that you get my full attention? Maybe I’m allowed to take meetings from outdoors or on a treadmill, and get a meeting-free day for flow time?

I think gradually adhd is being seen less as a disadvantage and more of an advantage with conditions. No one works harder than a nerd on 40mgs of mama Vyvanse.

I was recently referred to a position, my contact knew about me being ADHD submitted me as "diversity" for disability. The were a few questions early in the process about needing accommodation and being able to perform under reasonable accomodations, those were only by HR/recruiter and there was nothing in the "professional" interviews.
I got the job, but chose not to take it given the the current public shitshow with company (tech and in the news...)

I advanced to the last stage at
Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.
A friend who is a hiring manager recently recommended me and this time without even a HR call I received a straight up thanks but no thanks email.

Left big 4 for industry a couple weeks ago and everything is going really well at the new job. I applied to the IRS 6 months ago and just heard back I have an interview. An interview is not an offer, but still torn if I should go forward. My city only has one industry highly dependent on the economy, and I was drawn to the IRS because of stability and feels like I’ll only get one shot. Not here to start a comp debate - family who works for the gov says they will match current salary. Any advice?

This is a legit question so don’t hate me just trying to understand if it’s worth it or not. What is the draw of applying to M7? I understand elite status, but based on research the median total comp for an M7 grad is 185k as of 2020 study (2019 data) and the average age of the students in these programs is 27/28. I know going to MBB they have pretty specific comp coming out for M7 grads but outside of those three firms, what is the draw? Trying to justify spending 200k for a degree.

I have been trying to connect to the HR from last 60 days and today I got to know that the HR has resigned from organisation. 🤦🏻

I’m 90% certain my owners are selling our privately held financial services company. This is a family owned company and they have always been very generous and cared for their employees. For people who take medication, what is your best/must have sleep aid supplement?

I started taking Adderal, 2.5 g which is not really a lot. It didn’t really help with my focus, instead I felt restless and somehow nervous and really thirsty. And it made me clench my teeth. I do grind my teeth during nighttime but never experienced this in the daytime. Does it take time to get used to it?

anyone been on adderall for a while and it just stopped working? i’m getting distracted more easily than before and losing motivation, even for things i want to do. while this may be partially due to anxiety/depression, i’m wondering if anyone has switched meds/doses after being on adderall for a long time and found it to be a big help.

I’m wondering if I should start taking my meds everyday rather than just the weekdays for work. Because the meds help me stay on track with chores and life but something about taking stimulants everyday…I feel so guilty…

Finally went to therapy and got diagnosed but considered about jumping on medication so focused on doing CBT to see if I can manage. Any success stories using CBT before turning to medication?

Have SO much technical documentation to read by the end of the week. Very dry, but detailed. Probably about 300 pages worth.

Even with meds, focus is tough. Content is just so dry, but I need to be able to understand it to an extent. Can anyone provide any tips/tricks??
