OP, I believe it’s required for any alternate travel. I would just send him/her and your SM and quick email saying hey just wanted to make you’re ok with my alternate travel plans. The normal price is x and mine will be y, so I will be saving the client x-y. If this is not ok or you have any questions, please let me know.

There is no approval required. Same rules as booking Airbnb for regular stay (m-t) apply

Struggling with JE’s for earnouts paid post-acquisition. Amounts were paid out to former owners in a prior period. I think the entry was Dr. accrued expense; Cr. Cash. Now it’s sitting in accrued exp, so I asked why and the client says it was wrong and is reclassing now by Dr. Investment in Sub; Cr. Accrued Exp. (Investment in sub rolls up into current liability.) Does this make sense? I’m so confused about what this should be.

What would you do if you were me? Late 30s. Burned out. 1.4M invested in index funds (75% in in post tax accounts). 4k/month fixed housing expense. Untilites/insurance/subscriptions at 1k/month. After that it's food, clothing, and one-off expenses. Dual income family of 4. Monthly burn rate gets up to 9k when we're not paying attention so I'm not traditional FIRE yet. Coasting options? I want to travel. Heard that folks at M and B have already started to travel. I’m so jealous. I haven’t heard anyone below D traveling at my T2. Part of the reason for me to pursue a FT job in consulting is the opportunity to travel. I signed up for this. 4 mo into the job and still not seeing any traveling opportunity for me for at least another 4 mo.

Serious question. I started developing symptoms of covid last Friday. This included fatigue which worsened last Saturday. The next couple of days it got better but I started to develop cold symptoms such as runny nose, phlegm, and nasal congestion around Tuesday. I finally tested on Wednesday and came out positive. It’s been over a week since my first symptom, but I’m not sure when to test again to see if I am positive.

Decision - I was out the door of my nationwide ins dfense firm. Was going to top local firm with a lot more clout where everything would be private pay and I’d be more on bigger exposure cases. However, my firm outmatched the new firm, made a much better bonus structure, and said I could do more work with their complex bus lit group. I’d still likely do about 50 percent ins defense but I really like the partners I work for, and I handle own cases/take depos, and get autonomy. Am I right to stay?
