Do you really have to reveal your salary while in any interview? Is it a law that you should provide your pay stubs to prove your current package?

Absolutely not

Hell no! Report them, that’s breaking the law!

Nope don’t do that Do not provide them your pay stubs Don’t give your salary going forward

Also recruiters will try to trick you into revealing your salary too. Try to be aware and not fall for it. E.g. “You must be on around $X right?”

NO. In fact, it is illegal for them to ask in many states

I got around it by saying the following - I'm due for a promotion and a huge bonus this year - I get a lot of reimbursements for training that I value - I have a great support network here...it will take a lot to get me to leave Feel free to share your salary...your current salary does not impact how much money it will take you to move

I would never do this. There is an inherent tension between employer and employee: the employer wants to get an employee for as little as possible; the employee wants to be paid as much as possible. There is no law stating that an employee needs to show a prospective employer old pay stubs

How do you usually avoid answering the question politely without reducing your chances in the interviewing process?

I have rehearsed answers/scripts for handling specific questions like this. Got most of them from watching YouTube videos on salary negotiations! If you feel you need to give an answer, don't forget compensation isn't just your paystub - try to include cost of benefits, too. Even then, I never give a number and stay vague. I.e. - "based on my current compensation package, I am looking to make *insert range* in order to make a job transition viable at this time"

Nope, but it might work against you

Tell them goes much it will cost to hire you. Nothing more.

Don’t tell them what you make. Ask what the company’s position is on pay equity and whether or not they have salary bands to ensure people doing the same job are getting paid the same for their work. If they insist on a number, do your research to get an idea of what that role should be paying, and give them that number as your salary expectation. Don’t undervalue your skills.
