Do you really have to reveal your salary while in any interview? Is it a law that you should provide your pay stubs to prove your current package?

Absolutely not

like

Hell no! Report them, that’s breaking the law!

like

Nope don’t do that

Do not provide them your pay stubs

Don’t give your salary going forward

like

Also recruiters will try to trick you into revealing your salary too. Try to be aware and not fall for it. E.g. “You must be on around $X right?”

NO. In fact, it is illegal for them to ask in many states

I got around it by saying the following

- I'm due for a promotion and a huge bonus this year
- I get a lot of reimbursements for training that I value
- I have a great support network here...it will take a lot to get me to leave

Feel free to share your salary...your current salary does not impact how much money it will take you to move

likeuplifting

I would never do this. There is an inherent tension between employer and employee: the employer wants to get an employee for as little as possible; the employee wants to be paid as much as possible.

There is no law stating that an employee needs to show a prospective employer old pay stubs

How do you usually avoid answering the question politely without reducing your chances in the interviewing process?

I have rehearsed answers/scripts for handling specific questions like this. Got most of them from watching YouTube videos on salary negotiations!
If you feel you need to give an answer, don't forget compensation isn't just your paystub - try to include cost of benefits, too. Even then, I never give a number and stay vague. I.e. - "based on my current compensation package, I am looking to make *insert range* in order to make a job transition viable at this time"

like

Nope, but it might work against you

Tell them goes much it will cost to hire you. Nothing more.

Don’t tell them what you make. Ask what the company’s position is on pay equity and whether or not they have salary bands to ensure people doing the same job are getting paid the same for their work. If they insist on a number, do your research to get an idea of what that role should be paying, and give them that number as your salary expectation. Don’t undervalue your skills.

I have been giving a few interviews lately and every Company is asking me to confirm if i can get my NP reduced from 90 Days to 45 or 60 Days. I'm still under probation but assigned to a Project already. Should I ask my Account Manager and HR about it or its unethical to do so. Am i making a mistake to ask and confirm about NP even before my offer letter or its ok to just enquire what's the process and possibility to reduce NP as we have buyout option too.

Received verbal offer for L4 non-tech role (accounting/finance) and I’m very disappointed in the numbers:

Base: 111k
RSU: 98k
Bonus: 15%
Sign-on: 10k

I told my recruiter that my expectation is $130k base and 120k equity, which I thought would be reasonable given my 7 YOE. They even skipped HC bc I was a clear cut (not to toot my own horn). Any thoughts & tips on negotiation? I have no competing offer rn. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I applied to a biglaw firm directly and have gone through five rounds of interviews which included eight attorneys and three supervisors. I even met with the managing partner for the practice group. Then it all stalled just prior to the thanksgiving holiday weekend. Two communications later, the decision makers are still out on vacation, I’m being told. However, my gut tells me something that I worked so hard for is slipping from my hands, if it hasn’t already.

I’m just casually driving and the civic speeds next to me and then merged to my lane and brake checks immediately. I swerved to the right after he/she brake checked and making sure no car was in the lane. Came next to it and started shouting wtf.. dumb as but their windows were fully tinted.

What can I do to them with this video? I swear it was like they wanted me to crash into them so they get paid
