Personally, I would rather pay someone to drive me around than to deal with that stress
Not a chance, I’m a fantastic driver but I don’t want that on my vacation when I just try to relax more. I’ve taken trains and other reliable public transit to avoid that
I did in Australia. Going through a roundabout the first time was trippy. When I signaled to leave it, I turned the windshield wipers on. 🤣
Having lived and driven in both AU and then the US, I rent cars overseas
I have. It doesn’t take long to adjust. The hardest thing for me is not drifting onto the shoulder
I rented a car in Scotland and it was like this - driving on the “wrong side” and very narrow, curvy roads. Renting a car was convenient because parts of Scotland are pretty remote and difficult to get to by train. If you’re going to well-traveled areas, renting the car may just lead to additional anxiety. But I just drove slowly and pulled over regularly for local traffic to pass and it was fine. I was relieved when we dropped off the car in Glasgow though, haha.
Not anymore. First and last time I rented a car that drives on opposite roads the driver in our group hit the side of the road and we destroyed the tire because it felt weird/new driving on the other side. Whatever the extra money is for a driver I think is worth for the peace of mind that comes with it. I go on vacation to avoid responsibility 🙌

I love the challenge! Pro tip - make sure you have the insurance, just in case!
Yes - have driven in the UK and Hong Kong with no issue
Never. Trains or drivers
I do in Ireland all the time, you get used to it quickly. If you can drive standard even better, it keeps you alert and focused on the fact you have to drive on the opposite side.
