Additional Posts in In-House Counsel
Any in-house counsel in here willing to post their company, level or YOE, and total comp breakdown? If you’re comfortable, please consider posting both your current stats and what your stats were when you first moved in-house. If there’s any other information that you want to share, please include that too (e.g., hours, interesting perks, etc.). Info on in-house salaries is pretty hard to come by, and it would be great to compile some data points here! Facebook Amazon Google Netflix Apple

Make sure you get good malpractice insurance and that your company is okay with it. This seems unusual.
My company has an incredibly robust pro bono program. We don’t handle any litigation, but there is 100x more of a probono (and general community service) focus than at my firm. I personally didn’t have time or support for pro bono in my firm life, and I’m now working on at least one pro bono matter almost all of the time.
You won’t have any malpractice insurance, so you need to make sure whatever organization you work with has you covered. If you were approved to take on a litigation matter you’d have to secure your own unless you did it through an organization.
There’s an org called We the Action that matches lawyers to non profits seeking legal volunteers. Be sure to ask about the malpractice insurance though - I wouldn’t do work through an org without it. Many state bars also have similar services. And some ACC chapters organize pro bono clinics, working with local legal aid organizations.
