@EY2 that’s what’s wrong with the world. Then there will probably be a women that you meet somewhere at the company who already lose respect for you before you even get to start the job. But yes I agree that a business-y dress and jacket is fine for an interview.

I think a professional looking dress and suit jacket is okay! I would wear what makes you feel the best, this will help your confidence. If you have any doubt on the dress, go with the suit.

Do you know who your interviewers are, and their preference for men or women? Showing a little leg could help your chances.

Suit without a doubt. A dress can be equally formal but I feel the comments above show how people’s expectations matter. Now for a business meeting once you have a job a dress suit with blazer is just as good as a suit.

Personally I wouldn't wear a dress and suit jacket to an interview. But then again, I'm a guy, so...

I wore a nice dress and a suit jacket for my interviews at KPMG and Deloitte and got both offers. Unless you’re interviewing at a law firm or McKinsey you’re fine (just speculating from what I’ve heard). Smh at some of these comments

Depends on where you going. If their dress code is business professional dress the same. If it’s more lax then don’t worry too much

Suit - w/o a doubt. I don’t hire people dressed in anything less than that!

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

Interviewed for Deloitte S&A Tech Strategy SC and got a verbal offer for Consultant instead. I negotiated the offer to 120K salary and 10K signing bonus. I’m a boomerang with 4 years ERP consulting but this past year I’ve been doing DEI Consulting. Spoke with former colleagues who rejoined Deloitte and got a much higher offer for SC. How do I go back to the recruiter to negotiate further? I suggested that I’d probably sign but need time to think. Now I’d like to go back and request 140k salary.

Working in my office used to be my primary source of work outfit inspiration but since working remote staying aware of what styles are in is nearly impossible. I live in a smallish town, so going out doesn't help fill in that awareness gap. Are there any online communities or slack communities where people talk about and share style inspiration I can wear at work? I'm 28, work in tech, and my office is a start up, so attire is casual. I'd also be interested in brands people follow.
