Anyone from LBMC care to share how’s it like working there? I have an interview this week for a tax senior (remote) position. What’s the wlb and pay compared to big4?LBMC
It’s been a grueling 18 months, for everyone. There’s a unique story I’d like to share and it’s my own but I have to believe it’s not only mine. I was privileged enough to be able to WFH during the pandemic and change jobs to a fully remote job during this time. The isolation has become so complete, with the lack of connection and professional rapport or daily respect/clarity thru slack convos and sporadic zoom - I’m at an all time mental low barely able to start this Monday morning.
Feeling burnt out, like I’m not doing great work, in need of a major life change, and that I’m just in survival mode until the Holiday break. Meanwhile I feel guilt of having a stable remote job unlike so many others around the country. Someone tell me that I’m not alone
If you book a remote job at a project rate (and had based that rate on available hours during Mon-Fri), but now the client is expecting you to work over the weekend, how would you handle that?
I might be asking a lot, but does anyone have experience transitioning to permanent remote positions in analytics or data science at 40 hrs/week hard stop? Looking for suggestions on how to do it/good companies. I’m ready to get out of the city and start a little farm business on the side.
For companies that will adopt more remote positions, do you think they’ll start offering candidates slightly lower salaries for the privilege of WFH full time?
Have been having random bouts of lower back pain that take about a week to clear up - haven’t had any major documented back injuries but have been sitting a lot with WFH. Any tips from folks around WFH equipment, stretches or exercise that helps with this? I’m going to my primary care phys next week just to get a confirmation that it’s not something more serious
I have a salary range in mind for a new role based on online research and target increase from my comp now. But my research shows the data points are for salaries in HCOL areas. Do I need to adjust what I ask for if it’s a remote role and I’m not in HCOL city? Don’t want to overshoot and lose a great opportunity.
How are people "networking" now that we are wfh? I mean, you are barely even aware if people still work in the same company. Previously, you at least saw them every now and then at the office but now... They could have fired half the company and I wouldn't know
In a world of remote consulting work…. How long can the US maintain its high premium over European and, esp. developing market consulting? Both price tag to clients and significantly higher salaries for the people. I imagine may move faster at Big 4, etc. than MBB, but within MBB the huge cost and salary differentials feel… increasingly hard to maintain (even though I think the differential has actually gotten bigger, not smaller in the last two years). Thoughts?

Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts - I’ve been really struggling to adjust to long-term WFH and just have been extremely unhappy with it (feelings of isolation, burnout, hopelessness). I realize I’m not spending time on commute and such, not wearing uncomfortable clothes, but I’m still really miserable. I feel like most of my daily joy used to come from live interaction with people. I know many of y’all are really thriving on WFH and need your help / thoughts on how best to adjust. TIA!!
I want to join a non-profit board (remote, voluntary etc.) and doing my groundwork, does anybody got references or recommendations on how to approach or succeed? Looking to connect and discuss with someone who’s gone through this journey..
Hey Microsoft 🐠 what’s the thinking around remote work going forward? I don’t live in WA or Charlotte, is that an issue?
Has anybody maintained 2 separate work from home jobs? Or know someone who has? I feel like this is an easier way to make sm/director level money ...
If you could work remotely full time and live anywhere in the US where would you choose to live? (Assuming all visa hassles addresses around proximity to office etc)
I’ve agreed with my firm to a secondment to a bank at the end of the year, and have separately applied for an in-house position in a unicorn start up. It is likely that the start up might offer me a position. What do I do?
Just sitting here thinking.. Dang, I got a 3% annual raise. I feel worthless to my firm. I should leave.
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
Everyone talks about career suicide if you leave big 4 too soon, but shouldn’t overall life satisfaction be more important?
This is such a basic question, but what’s the best way to give my two weeks and not have things be completely awkward at work? I’m leaving to do the same type of work, but at a firm that I worked for in law school and that I know has a much better culture. My boss has a tendency to be passive aggressive towards people that are leaving and given that my office is right next to hers I’m worried my last two weeks are going to be so uncomfortable. Suggestions/advice?
How to transition into a manager role when you promoted? How you approach the leadership team to own more responsibilities and opportunities?
Hey guyz, Last week on Wednesday i got call from Mumbai Capgemini HR for salary discussion and DOJ then after she said she will release my offer letter with in 3-4 days. But on 18th sept i.e Saturday evening I got a message from them asking for alternate email id and Phone number for creation of profile on CG portal. I hate having to ask this question but I know a stigma exists around it: is it okay to look for/start a new job while trying to plan for a new child? If I start at my new job now, I will definitely be leaving for maternity leave before my first year is over. Perhaps this has been asked before but I’m new here and looking for some advice.
A friend just got an email from Accenture on taking a digital assessment for a role he applied and he is very excited. Any ideas or inputs from Accenture employees here will really be of help.

What’s the average relocation fee an agency might pay (or at least a decent relocation fee)? I’m planning to move from the west coast to the east coast, and would love advice. Also, it’s for a senior level role (not c-level or anything).
