Do you think American news does a poor job of representing other countries accurately?

In many cases, yes. For instance, much of the coverage of international events relies heavily on U.S.-centric perspectives and often fails to take into account the full context and nuances of the situation at hand.

American news organizations tend to disproportionately focus on negative aspects and conflicts in other countries while ignoring positive developments or progress that is taking place in those same countries. Such an approach not only distorts reality but can also create an environment for biased narratives about certain countries to persist.

Sometimes due to the limited resources available for foreign reporting in many American media outlets, journalists may have difficulty accessing reliable information from sources with first-hand experience from abroad which further affects their ability to produce balanced stories about international affairs.

I do not believe that American news does a poor job of representing other countries accurately. Overall, American news media organizations have implemented rigorous standards to ensure accuracy when reporting on foreign nations. For example, many major media outlets have fact-checking programs dedicated to double-checking the accuracy of stories before they air or publish them.

So much of the reporting from other countries is presented in a way that's meant to relate to life in the US.

In a new job (not even a month) and struggling to bill more than 7.5 hrs/day. Don’t have my own cases yet, just assignments from partners, and it’s a new area of law. I’m working 10-12 hours/day but feel like a sucky associate bc it’s taking me so long to do tasks since it’s a new field of law/new styles and tasks compared to my old partner/firm. I just don’t feel like my hours are reflecting my effort—any reassurance or tips/pieces of advice?

Is this feasible? I want to make around $240k in fed contracting.

Don't want to:
- Be a senior exec at a big firm
- Do a lot of biz dev (don't mind white papers or presenting)
- Get higher than secret clearance
- Do cyber or software engineering (don't mind managing tech talent)

Do want to:
- Have sole ownership of a single project (complex, operational work with 50+/- direct reports is fine)
- Work internationally and/or across multiple countries
- Control the project/info flow to client

Hi folks. I'm in my sixth year of prosecution and have hit the glass ceiling. My next options are to run for office (ew), stay where I am and get state sanctioned raises for the rest of my career (ew), or jump ship. I'd like to get into plaintiff's litigation. Any tips would be much appreciated on 1.) switching expertise, 2.) fully remote or hybrid work (I love my house & don't want to move), 3.) where to find jobs openings. Thanks!

Can a newspaper use my photo without my consent?

I'm not a reporter, I'm just a citizen who took a picture during an event and uploaded it to my social media account. Turns out a digital media wrote me to have permission to use my picture, and when I said yes, they said they were looking for some other picture because I had already given permission to the competitors, which I didn't.
They just posted it without asking me, letting me know, or even mentioning my credits. Is this legal?
