LOL CISSP is 5 years experience on top of it saying a minimum of 3 years experience. Plus NYC? That’s a big fat NO

like

For 3 years experience at 80k I don’t know what COL looks like wherever this job is but that feels WAY low to me

like

Oh definitely, I will not be continuing with the interview process

Post the company let’s shame them on LinkedIn

Be my guest it’s JCrew/Madewell corporate

In 2021 money the only people who should be getting $80k are new grads

like

Agree with this. If you have 3 years of experience the floor should be 120k

like

I’d say 150 considering NYC. Honestly even without it being NYC could get 150

like

This is one of the main reasons we have shortage in the cyber space. We call things entry level but expect 3+ YOE yet only want to pay for entry level. Also hate job descriptions that are entry level but want someone with CISSP which is not entry level at all 🤦‍♂️

like

Yes. And not getting the budgets that security orgs deserve.

The job description is wild, if it’s an entry level soc analyst role then 80k is a little short, but the other aspects of the job description means that you’d also be working for NOC so if that’s the case then the pay should at least be 120-140

like

Glad to see I’m not the only one that thought this was absolutely insane

It really depends what the location is. In EU a salary of 80k for 3-5 years experience is quite good. Salary in US is way low…

wait... xdr, VM, siem, reviewing firewall rules, and accredited? not sure why they think anyone with 3 years experience would have these skills, much less do it for $80k?

No. Champagne on a beer budget. You’re worth more
