Do you think LMM PE firms will hold off on giving offers for summer 2020? Was told yest. by the recruiter it seemed they were going to present me with one soon..but that they’re dealing with COVID!

The @wallstreetbook team (join us on insta!) is talking about this a lot — so far, we’re less worried about PE (honestly, there is a ton of work with valuations falling and shoring up portfolio companies) and know anecdotally many firms are still interviewing candidates into this week at least. I’d be patient, though, knowing industry (and globes) are generally freaking out...... Good luck getting the offer!

Thank you - is there a post or forumn I can read from your site or instagram you can link me to? But thanks - yeah hoping they don’t decide not to hand one out since this is for a summer gig

There’s a ton of work to be done on the portco side for sure, but the real issue is that it’s hard to get trained and engrained if work from home lasts through the summer. Really a wait and see game for the next month or so.

Thank you - appreciate the response

We have sort of halted hiring as of now, but that will probably have to change if the situation lasts long enough

Thank you - any thoughts if I told you the firm already conducted all final rounds and the start date is summer 2020?

Guess I’m just wondering if a firm would decide not to hang out an official offer because of what’s going on, I’ve just heard recruiting has even delayed as of now but that firms will still need bodies once activity picks up

It took me 10 yrs to come out gay in the workplace. I was single during this time and then met a guy right before Covid.

Personally it was amazing because like me, he identifies as asexual gay. We have been together 3 years and it has been magical.

I started coming out as asexual and surprisingly it hasn’t gone well. People either accuse me of lying or “something amiss in the relationship”. Should I just stop caring? I like to educate people on asexuality as it hurt me my whole life but …

Feeling a sharp tinging pain in left lower abdomen. It’s my first trimester. Have my OB visit next week, but between then and now has anyone encountered it?
FYI - I had something similar before I got pregnant. Was on vacations and planned to get it checked on return but it went away by the time I returned so never got it checked.

2nd post on catching covid

I am lucky to have mild symptoms.

I do have 1 symptom which is troubling. I feel extreme anxiousness. I have trouble sitting still and trouble sleeping. I have trouble concentrating. The doctor says anxiety is a somewhat common symptom and that Cedars Sinai is studying the potential for long term impact.

Anyone else experience this? I have never felt this before. I have a huge new appreciation for those who suffer from anxiety on a regular basis in everyday life.

Had a therapist who encouraged me to quit my job to be happy. Also encouraged me to not settle with my girlfriend because I’ll regret it (like how he regrets getting married). Ended up quitting my job and became more miserable, poor and suicidal. Haven’t seen my girlfriend due to long distance and COVID and we might break up soon. Did I just find a bad therapist or is it normal to project your own regrets to your patients?

Hi Moms. I’m 4.5mo postpartum with my first, and I’m having incredible feelings of resentment toward my husband, who I love dearly and with whom I’ve always had a great relationship. It feels like he’s not factoring me or the baby into his decisions (e.g. going on a 4d boys trip, attending big events), while I’m left with the consequences. My mat leave is ending, and he’s now sick with COVID. He’s quarantining at my in-laws while I return to work and take care of baby. I’m so frustrated… (cont.)

Just wanted to share this with people who would understand. Had 4 IEP meetings last week. When the case manager asked one mother if she had any concerns she said her only concern was that her kindergarten son with autism loved me so much she was afraid of him being promoted and being out of my room. I told her not to worry, in our program I will have him for 2 more years. Boy that made me feel good.

Pregnant with my second. I keep getting asked if I’m returning after mat leave. The answer is 99% no, but having trouble saying “absolutely yes” with a straight face. My answer has been closer to “maybe under the right conditions”.

I posted here some months back about my ectopic pregnancies but today, I'm posting to tell you all to hang in there and God will do it for you. (Please don't insult me of you don't believe in God because I strongly do).
In a nut shell, we had baby #1 without trying. Started trying for #2 and over 2 years, I had 4 miscarriages and 2 ectopics. In July, my doc informed me that the only way forward was through IVF. I was tired and confused. I PRAYED! and continued trying. (The rest in the comments.)

I was recently (in April) fired from a good nursing position that I was at for 5 years. I reached out to my old ADON to get some information on where we had our vaccinations from and she told me that I should come back and the administrator that I had issues with is gone. Is this something I should even consider? I miss my patients and some of my coworkers and the pay is better, but I don't feel like I would really be welcome to come back.
