Been thinking about buying this reasonable dividend growth fund from vanguard - I like the approach and the manager. The ER is 0.26%. I did the quick math vs my Schwab S&P500 index at .02% and it’s a staggering amount of expense over 20 years and 500K investment. How do people justify paying 1% etc for their investments when you can own S&P 500 for almost nothing.
For you that tip Ubers and expense it afterwards, how do you keep track? Always update a spreadsheet afterwards?
Hey guys. I have a soon to be nonprofit church struggling because they already started services (collecting offerings too against my advice) before things were set with an EIN and they gave an event already planned out and are trying to find a way to spend and collect before the things are in order. They want to know if one of their small business owners can expense and collect then consider it a donation. Is this possible? Any advice or loopholes that are Legal and will avoid issues later on?
We’re finally going engagement ring shopping tomorrow!! I love the look of diamonds but I just can’t justify the expense at this point in our lives. Any suggestions on alternative stones?

At a former company, they let you expense $20 for working 10+ hours in a day, but you could never use it because it would always be rejected. Recently started at a new firm, and I had a rough week last week (two 14+ hour days). New firm has a similar policy, so I asked. Was told not to submit the $20 reimbursements. Just as I was about to get frustrated, he told me I should get dinner for my wife and me. Only rule was to keep it under $100. Don't like working 14 hour days, but this was nice.

To con't the conversation on engagement rings💍 - what do they symbolize to you? My BF and I got into a discussion about this last night. He views them as an investment and an "asset" on the books for his future family. He also has grandparents who had to finance their trip to America by selling their jewels. I see the ring as more of a gift to the future bride that is an expense that can be sold for money if needed, but isn't an investment. I'm fine w/ lab grown, he is not. Thoughts?
My boss treats me like his secretary. I’m the only woman on the team, and he makes me handle HIS expense report twice a month, all the new hire onboarding, and just about anything he thinks his male employees are too busy to do. I’m a seasoned IT professional with two decades of experience and can code in 15 different languages. This frustrates me to no end but the exposure I’m getting to new tech skills is amazing so I can’t just walk away! Suggestions on how I can get him to respect me?!

A question for Big 4 peeps - if you know the salary range in the group you wanna go for is 150k to 170k, how much should you say when the HR asks you how much you want? Is 180k too much to start with? (Didn’t want to start with 170k since they will only come back with lower I assume)

Hi Fishes, I have an interview next week for a Client Partnerships Manager role at a large entertainment company. I've never actually done a role like this. The focus would be a client partner for Tech, QSR & Finance clients. Can you all provide any insight or tips into this role whether you've done it or partnered with someone who has. Also, what do you consider the media & marketing process to be? And is QSR mean quick service restaurant. I come from the CPG & sale world. Thanks for any input.
Was ghosted by a recruiter in August after a couple phone calls. Same recruiter emailed today about the same job like we never talked before. Still interested in the role. Best way to navigate?
