Do you think that the new ICS structure announced today going to do any good for the customers or solve the purpose of removing duplication?

My thoughts- It felt like that to come out of one messed up structure they are creating another one. what is the need to have so many verticals..it will again be confusing for everyone. Don’t really see much benefits of the new structure.

Asking this for my husband who works at E&Y. Apparently EY has this policy that you need to be employed by EY for at least 12 months to be qualified for the 16 weeks paternity leave. My husband joined EY on 4/6/2020 and our baby is due 3/26/2021, which makes him only a few days short to be eligible for the 16 weeks paternity leave benefit. Just curious if anyone was in the same shoes and was able to successfully negotiate with the firm. TIA!!!!

Im on pace to settle between $8-10M this year ($2.7-3M in fees) as pre-lit personal injury attorney, 10 years out, 1 year into new firm, Base $90k, 3% commission, I should clear $175k-$180k this year with benefits and 4% matching IRA, we have 55 employees at the firm, is it unreasonable to be wanting to clear $200k a year? $225k a reach? Don’t want to be unreasonable having only been here a year?

I made excess 401K contributions by mistake in 2020 because I changed employers. I was with employer A through June and with employer B from July. I asked my plan provider X (same provider for both employers) to correct the excess deferrals. X corrected the excess deferrals in early 2021 and issued me a 1099-R. I read online that employer B needs to also provide a corrected W2 and that I need to file amended 2020 return...contd.

Big4 and Mid tier- All partners have a vesting period and if you leave before that 10 year mark , you dont get those retirement benefits correct? I noted some firms actively push out partners nearing that 10 year period. I have seen it happen. Is that a normal practice to shake out some dead weight so to speak before they reach that 10 year mark? Seems cut throat but is that part of the business now?
