Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.

Excel, lots of excel…essentially track how well our department is doing
I think it will just depend on the company…my VP wanted to bring someone in at a junior level and they just got the job within the month.
The higher up the referral, the better your chances.
Yeah I’m qualified was just hoping 18 year VP would make my recruiting smoother

Maybe a little? I am in a hiring position and have received a few resumes from VPs. The candidates definitely got interviewed but when they didn’t deliver in the interview it was over. I did feel compelled to gather and deliver more thorough feedback on the interview than normal, and brainstorm some places I thought the candidate might be a better fit. I didn’t want to be plainly dismissive.
Of course, that VP probably doesn’t know my name and doesn’t give a rat’s butt that I helped so…
Yeah I definitely don’t plan on fumbling the interview, I’m no Jimmy G

Depends on the company, it only pushes them to get an interview most likely. If they’re recommending someone extremely experienced, then yeah it might also influence the hiring decision (only if it’s for the same team/dept).
We had a founder refer a Consultant to a company I worked at, we were pushed by our recruiting team to interview her, but she unfortunately wasn’t a great fit (plus the founder wasn’t on the same “team”). We also had a VP refer an experienced Head of Ops, and even though most of the interviewers said no, they got hired anyway.
