What's most frustrating is why we can't find a candidate that's socially liberal and fiscally conservative. They would clean up in the generals. Too many old people clinging to party lines I suspect.

You're not independent minded if you're a republican.
^ understand your point, but don't completely agree. Legalizing and taxing things like pot, prostitution, etc. would actually contribute revenues. Similarly, things like allowing for gay marriage and abortions don't cost money (abortions might actually result in less support from social programs if you buy into the freakonomics theory).
